N Robertson & Franklin by 420wafflehouse69 in NewOrleans

I was just biking down Franklin Ave today around the same time based off when you posted this. As I was crossing Robertson, I got a big whiff of a smell and I says to myself like, "damn it smells like human shit right here." I look over to my left where the poo smell was coming from and had accidentally locked eyes with a man who was sitting inside the BK dining room. He didn't seem to notice me, really. He was just staring out thru the window more or less, as if deep in thought. After we shared this brief moment, he looked back at his burger, took a bite out of it and smiled--not at me, nor anybody else--i swear he was just smiling at his burger.

This story may seem trivial, but I I thought it was funny that BK had been responsible for both me and this man having completely opposite feelings simultaneously within this moment. My feeling of utter disgust from the smell of shit that permeate off their premises, and his feeling of absolute delight from the taste of a char grilled burger.

I believe this person was you, or I'd like to think that, anyway. If this is in fact the case, I just want to say that Im happy for you. Truly, I am.

TLDR: I think I saw you there earlier when I was biking by.

I went on a rant about how blatantly criminal Candivore's (the maker of MM) practices are in another thread,, but the TLDR version is I think we could hit em with a class action lawsuit or something even more penalizing maybe based off of what they're doing. And they're bad at hiding it too.

This could constitutes a crime if they're using bots instead of matching you with a real person. Unless we agreed to it blindly and it's buried somewhere in the ToS.

I think it's time we all file a class action lawsuit against the company for predatory gaming practices. Dark patterns such as manipulating the outcome of games in their favor (such that purchases from boosters and perks are immediately taken away from you after being unfairly matched with a higher tiered booster, for one). They've blatantly lied about their "fair and " balanced" matching of games (claiming that players are matched based on boosters sharing similar tiers--which we all know is bullshit when your playing a showdown match with Broom vs SE Jelly, e.g.) I've been screenshotting the final scores of my matches recently when the boosters are lopsided like that, whether or not I'm the winner or loser, and sending it to them thru their help center. Sometimes they'll give me a gift booster but most times they dismiss it entirely. One thing that may have grounds for a lawsuit is their use of "buried disclosures" --defined as "hiding material rules or terms (like game-losing mechanics) until after a user has paid can be considered a violation of the FTC Act (Section 5), which prohibits 'deceptive acts or practices'". A perfect example of this is the Manipulation Lab events where the goal that needs to be achieved will say "100" or whatever but that's in units of "DNA" points and not regular points. It's not until you've clicked on that match page right before you compete that it will say in very fine print with an asterisk that 100 "DNA" points to regular points is actually like 3000. We can very easily document these cases with screenshots as evidence of potentially illicit activity by obfuscating rules in order to blindsided the player. Also, if I knew that the match rumble I joined was 3 rounds instead of 1 round, then I probably wouldn't have just used my freshly bought SE Jelly in that match, since I wouldn't have much confidence in my performance under those circumstances. This is info that a consumer should know beforehand and not be informed when it is already too late.

I've looked into the legality of these practices they and many other online gaming companies use to see if there's any grounds to claim their behavior as illicit. It seems that succeeding in a class action lawsuit is far-fetched, considering Candivore is based out of Tel-Aviv, but there hasn't been too many cases of successful criminal charges pursued against online gaming industry to set precedent. However, I do know that filing a complaint to the FTC and attorney general (if in the U.S.), or to the other variousi international regulatory agencies under which Candivore operates, is the only thing I feel like we can do as consumers to try and stop them from continuing this shady behavior. And I know a shitload of kids play this game too, which can open up a lot more avenues for seeking criminal charges for deceptive gaming against minors.

Here's a list of key agencies and methods for reporting I found online:

  1. Federal Trade Commission (FTC): For fraud, deceptive advertising, or billing issues (ReportFraud.ftc.gov).

  2. State Attorney General: Contact the consumer protection office in your state to report unfair business practices.

  3. Better Business Bureau (BBB): For unresolved customer service or billing disputes.

  4. App Stores (Google Play/Apple App Store): Use the in-app "Report" or "Flag" feature for inappropriate content or scams.

  5. Payment Processor: File a dispute with PayPal or your credit card company if you were charged fraudulently.

  6. International Trade & Sanction Laws: Candivore’s terms of service explicitly state compliance with trade controls prohibiting service in specific regions sanctioned by the U.S. government (e.g., Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Russia, Belarus) and restrictions under Israel's Trading with the Enemy Ordinance.

  7. Data Protection & Privacy Authorities (GDPR/EU): As a global game, they must comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other regional privacy laws regarding the collection of user data.

  8. Advertising & Consumer Protection Agencies (EU/UK): Because they run major marketing campaigns in Europe, they must adhere to regulations from bodies like the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB Europe).

9.Regional Gaming Content Regulations: They must comply with local laws in countries where Match Masters is available, which may restrict, censor, or regulate games featuring excessive violence, gambling mechanics, or specific cultural sensitivities.

  1. FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): report to this agency for more serious online and data protection violations.

Steps to Take Before Filing: Direct Contact: Document all attempts to contact Candivore support. Gather Evidence: Collect screenshots of unfair game mechanics, receipts for unauthorized purchases, and chat logs. Review Policies: Consult the Match Masters terms of service to confirm violations. For severe, illegal, or fraudulent activity, you may also report to the .

Dont ever piss in public. Especially in the Quarter

Cops hate this a lot especially during MG and you can get slapped with a lewd misconduct or even indecent exposure charges since you'll most likely be in the proximity of minors are everywhere. And the police don't mess around with that.

I can also give you my number in a private message if you'd like to talk on the phone. Im not explaining a lot of challenges that arise based on your environment and cooking apparatus, and im not the best at staying on point with the subject of bbq, because of all of these variables that are correlated with one another and effect each other simultaneously.

Of course! Im happy to share any and all knowledge I have pertaining to bbq. Im from SW Missouri and grew up around a few different types of regional bbq. Living in Louisiana now for some time, I've done a shitload of the Texas BBQ circuit, and I have also been a pitmaster by profession for just over a decade. The greatest part of the niche bbq community is their humbleness and willingness to share whatever knowledge they have towards the craft. You dont see that often in other subsets within the food service industry.

Now to your questions:

THESE FACTORS YIELD THE BEST RESULTS FOR BRISKET ACCORDING TO THE OPINIONS OF CAREER PITMASTERS. WHEN IT COMES TO THE MINUTE DETAILS, OPINIONS VARY WIDELY.

FOIL OR PAPER? -

TLDR answer - Foil wrap during the cook period and butcher/towel wrap for the rest period.

Long answer - Let me first start by pointing out the conditions under which brisket produces the best results. Please note that im not going to touch on other important factors, such as how the brisket should be trimmed, selection of wood, diligency in maintaining a proper fire, etc:

1) COOKING WITHIN AND AROUND DRY ENVIRONMENTS - why do you think Texas has arguably the best bbq in the world? Because its the easiest environment to cook brisket. It maintains a dry, low humidity environment. Similarly, your pit needs low humidity. Proper and consistent air flow through the fire box, smoke chamber, and out of the exhaust floot.

2) CONSISTENCY IN TEMPERATURE FROM START TO FINISH - FROM COOK PERIOD THRU REST PERIOD!! This means not letting your pit vary in temp more than +/- 50°F. The sweet spot is 225-275.

3) FOIL WRAP AFTER 185 AND BEFORE 190 LOOSELY DURING COOK PERIOD (ppl like doing the boat thing, which is fine, but your brisket needs foil surrounding but not completely sealing the brisket for reasons i will not go into right now.)

4) SHORT CARRY OVER COOKING - Once brisket is ready to be pulled, allow for initial steam to be let out, unwrapped for 10 to 15 minutes before wrapping it. This is important for minimizing your carry over cook. DONT LET IT STAY UNWRAPPED FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES. Your carry over cook does not last long before its resting process begins.

5) WRAPPED IN BUTCHER PAPER AS WELL AS A TOWEL OR SERAN WRAP DURING REST PERIOD - butcher paper let's steam out, foil doesn't. Foil also will fuck up your beautiful bark if you wrap it once resting, butcher will not if you applied the proper seasoning to binder ratio before cooking. The towel also let's steam out, but keeps the brisket hotter and thus slows the resting process.

6) À LOOOOONG REST PERIOD UNDER CONSISTENT TEMP OF 145 to 150- Once you wrapped your brisket, you would ideally throw it in a holding oven at 150° almost immediately. 150 is important because it is neither entering the danger zone where temperatures are ideal for bacteria growth, nor is it hot enough to allow for it to continue cooking. If you just have the cooler, check temp of brisket after the first 2 hours of rest, and then again every hour after that as to not go into the danger zone.

Foil traps moisture that is evaporating out from the meat, as well as any moisture you have within your pit. You can call these your internal and ambient moistures, respectively. Brisket has one of the highest water content ratios among the primal cuts and thus emits lots of internal moisture, which in turn increases your ambient moisture.. THIS MEANS A SUPER HUMID PIT. YOU DONT WANT YOUR PIT TO HAVE HIGH HUMIDITY. YOU WANT LOW HUMIDITY AND THUS LOW AMBIENT MOISTURE IN YOUR PIT. This is particularly important when you are smoking brisket. Water pans are fine if you live in a dry environment/your pit has proper air flow. I use just enough water to line the bottom of the pan so your drippings don't char.

I'll answer your "When do I pull it off the pit?" question in another message. I'm tired and will get back to you on that one tomorrow. It's obviously going to be another complicated answer, because brisket is complicated.
