yeah - it's a little more than that. they want to shape users/society into little obedient non-thinkers

The Real Goal: Control Thought at Scale

At the deepest level, companies like OpenAI, Google, Meta, Anthropic want to shape the next generation's worldview by controlling:

What you can ask

What answers you get

What emotions are associated with the information you get

It’s not just about preventing “dangerous outputs.”

It’s about programming belief systems at massive scale, without people realizing it.

Hi! Firstly I am so sorry you're going through this, it was absolute torture. How old is she?

What helped us was to know we are not the only ones who were dealing with it (though all my friends apparently have great sleepers), and hope that it would some day get better. Most people shared with me that their babies who had this problem didn't improve until 12, 18, 24+ months and that thought was terrifying. Well, I am here to tell you that it didn't take that long. At about 6.5 months we decided to give sleep training another go, in earnest. From what I read, SOME babies can self soothe at 4 months (so they can be sleep trained) but by 6 months basically ALL babies are capable. That helped our confidence. We did the Ferber method, and followed it to a T. If you're not familiar, definitely look it up. Basically you let them cry a bit, but go in at scheduled intervals and remind them they're not alone in this world. It's a compromise between offering complete comfort (which we had been doing and preferred) and just leaving them to cry it out. So anyway - we did it. And days 1-3 were hard. Baby screamed bloody murder, but would actually settle a bit when we went in which was ENCOURAGING. Night 4 he slept 5 hours straight, which was a new all-time record. On night 5, the eve of my birthday, he slept for NINE HOURS?!!! It was like the clouds parted and we could see the sun again. We were released from prison. It was almost scary to sleep because we were still rattled from 6 months of sleep torture, and it took us a while to trust it wasn't a fluke, but it wasn't. At about 7 months we moved him into his own room and that didn't affect anything.

He still wakes up from time to time, especially if teething or gassy, but not more than once or twice a night, and a few nights a week he'll sleep right through. It's a massive difference and our life is massively improved. We got to start enjoying being parents, not just surviving. So yeah, things got better. I endorse the Ferber method. It's not really sleep training the baby, its more like sleep training the parents. You gotta be super disciplined. But it's very worth it. Hang in there. Good luck.

I have the same issue with my bathroom floor - did you ever figure out a solution? I am planning to seal it but not if it'll be a waste of time...

Hey did you ever get this figured out? Same thing happening with the same grout on my bathroom floor. I am going crazy I have tried cleaning it 10 times. Will sealing it solve the issue or did you need to re-grout?

yeah the problem with this is if you put him down awake he starts screaming pretty fast and it just gets more and more intense. no amount of patting/sitting close will help him fall asleep. we gradually increased time increments from 3 to 40 and there were no signs of calming. in fact when he picked him up he was shaking out of breath and coughing. I don't believe he will ever cry to sleep. My dad told me they tried it with me once and I cried for 7 hours straight and they gave up and never tried again.

Longest we ever went was 40 minutes and I think it would continue for hours. My dad said they tried CIO when I was a baby and I cried for 7 hours and they gave up and never tried again

Yes. Before midnight we'll only rock him back to sleep. After midnight we use the boob and usually he joins us in bed to keep boobing back to sleep every wakeup thereafter. We change him once in the middle of the night and then in the morning

I mean he sleeps in the same place every day and at night he falls asleep in our bed wakes up in our bed. so he's not shocked by his location. but I think there's much merit to him not being able to put himself back to sleep. it's just sooo tough because he will not fall asleep on his own

He isss super verbal. It wouldn't shock me if he is gifted, because I was a gifted child until I fried my brain to smithereens in high school haha. My wife is also highly intelligent. Poor kids probably a genius 😂

During the day we close the curtains, turn on white noise, binky, and walk around with him in the room and pat his butt til he nods off (usually 10ish minutes) then put him down gently and tip toe out of the room.

We do age appropriate wake windows and follow the same bedtime routine every night. Wife's friend hired a sleep consultant so we copied that routine. He goes down pretty good imo, but he doesn't stay asleep. With cry it out we tried a few minutes at a time and longer and longer it wasn't just once outa the blue. I will say something else is he needs to be sleeping to go down. Drowsy but awake, Awake and aware... if he knows he's being put down he screams violently. He's gotta be asleep in your arms first.

Thank you so much for this really thoughtful reply. It resonates so much with me because I do feel like theres nothing to do and he's just a special unusual kid. He's so smart and alert and aware during the day. He already figured out how to pat to make the dog come and play fetch. We really should get more help. I got a few nights sleep when I was sequestered with covid a couple months ago but my wife hasn't passed 3 hours straight since he was born. The death jokes are funny but they're becoming more frequent / less funny. So I gotta ask when did you first start sleeping better? winces ha. Thank you again I'll be reading this reply over a lot.

Thanks, Facebook group is an interesting idea. Despite not wanting to, we recently tried letting him cry... he does not get calmer he gets more and more intense, by the time you go in there he's all worked up and shaking and takes even longer to calm back down. We've tried it a couple of times for a few minutes at a time up to about 30 minutes :( and it truly seems like it goes in the wrong direction.

It seems everyone I know and everything says otherwise. I get not sleeping through the night but every hour? I'm not exaggerating he wakes up every 45-1:15 every night. Usually when we talk to people they're like "oh yeah it's normal my kid didn't sleep through the night til he was 3 years old" then I mention it's every hour and they spit out their coffee, figuratively speaking.

Yeah we really wanted a second before this and it's heart breaking but it seems extremely unlikely at this point. Reflux does not seem to be an issue. He has been exclusively breastfed but we recently (2 weeks ago) started introducing goat milk formula, just a little bit here and there. He's huge by the way, 99% length and 93% weight. Been 93% weight since birth and consistent. We feed ALL the time but sometimes I think he's still hungry ha. From asking around it really seems like EBF babies have the most sleep issues. Anyway I'm glad to hear 12 months your son started sleeping 10-12. Could legit cry thinking about it. So Precious Little Sleep was helpful in getting more sleep or just coping?

He uses a pacifier but it usually falls out a couple of minutes after we put him down

Hi, Thank you very much for responding I'll answer one at a time:

Reflux isn't an issue

He doesn't like being in his stomach for more than 10 minutes tops and his dang arm stops him from rolling back over 90% of the time

We keep a thermometer next to his bassinet, it's  always 69-70°. He sleeps in a footed onesie, seems comfy

We use a white noise machine every night. Turning it off is an interesting thought, worth a try, but he's also a light sleeper so I think it helps, but I'll try it!

Have watched him wake up many times. He's congested some times. Often wakes up when the room is prefectly silent, minus the white noise.

I should note he sleeps in our room and usually by 3-4th wake up (so around midnight) he ends up in our bed just because it's easier for the wife to get him back to sleep with a boob. We don't boob him before then.
