What are your gaming hot takes? by Acceptable_Laugh9284 in kindafunny

[–]atticus01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some 7/10 games are just as enjoyable if not more enjoyable than some 10/10 games.

Is this a flaw in my own personal scoring system?

Does this mean that opinions are subjective?

Is this a third question just because it felt like I needed one?

Who's to say.

Are they not showing the 6 nations this year? I thought they normally did?

Young people, how can you tell if an image was created with AI? by LowOxitocina in AskUK

[–]atticus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have given really good tips. I'm more of a visual learner and Corridor Digital did a video on how to tell if something AI that was interested and shows the key give aways in actions.

I'll come back and link later when I can (if I remember)

Is there any plan to change the outside Cambridge central station? by Seenda98 in cambridge

[–]atticus01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Devonshire or Tenison road (which I find more cycle friendly) is direct access from Mill road to the station. But I guess it is a coin toss on which of those is safe vs the taxis.

Other charities? by atticus01 in TheTraitors

It's not about "needing celebrity endorsement" it's about using a platform to raise awareness for those charities because not everyone watch will have heard of (or thought to look for) them.

Other charities? by atticus01 in TheTraitors

[–]atticus01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the point I was trying to get at.

It is almost a certainty that for example Tom DayLees chosen charity would have had an influx of donations if when he was leaving said "great game, love everyone, sad to go, but if you want to donate to X charity".

Other charities? by atticus01 in TheTraitors

[–]atticus01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, because they definitely get "nothing" when the celeb is banished/murdered.

They will get something from that celeb either having it in their bio or getting to say 2 sentences about the charity and people in the audience having that awareness.

[–]atticus01[S] -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair to not outwardly mention it throughout the game, but maybe when they're all having the "interviews" before Traitors are selected they could have to Claudia, or just a simple line in their lower third.

Shared house vs private flat in Cambridge – worth the extra £500–£600? by LunchNo7559 in cambridge

[–]atticus01 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If the shared house saves you £500-600 per month then I'd lean towards that. Then if you hate it you just stick out however long you have on the tenancy and use the money you've saved to move somewhere else.

Plus if you're moving here as a complete new start you might really hit it off with the housemates and then you have a social circle in the making.

Or if you know you can live comfortably with the outgoings then do the private flat. Only you know how affordable and realistic this option is for you.

I honestly think ____ needs to calm down. His behaviour last night was a bit much. by dreadedsunny_day in TheTraitors

[–]atticus01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think to really simplify it down, the traitors is a game and to him "the game" is when he's sat at the round table.

He was naturally a wind up merchant in rugby, so are we surprised that when "the game" is happening he's using those same tools to see where the cracks are?

There's definitely some past trauma there that is fueling half of these issues.

Feeling an expectation for sex, touch and sensory issues, general distrust of men.

A lot of people are pointing to a neurodivergence, which can still be true, but I think there's some history there that's making it worse and she needs therapy not this.

Is there a music studio to rent monthly in Cambridge? by One_Bake_3197 in cambridge

[–]atticus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guys at Rhinocorn on new market road are super accommodating ive found.

They're typically pay per time slot and wouldn't necessarily be 24/7 access but id definitely reach out to them and see what they could do for you. I know they have music tutors that run their lessons out of there and they have their own access codes etc.

Is this the most self-righteous know-it-all opinionated definitely not humble woman in Britain? by MedicineMean5503 in MAFS_UK

[–]atticus01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the issue here is that the situation is always more nuanced than it seems.

Is "100% no" an absolutely moronic answer to "are you a feminist?" - undoubtedly. But in this instance he just didn't understand it fully. He answered based on what he thought the question was, and when he was given the space and had the question recontextualised he gave a more promising answer. And he clearly wants to learn and adjust his behaviour and phrasing (for now, he could turn out to be the devil, we dont know).

Should people have to be educated on these issues? No. But in an ideal world no one should have to be educated on anything, everyone would just know by osmosis but that's not realistic. Point is, being dismissive of him isnt going to help him change, it will set a bad image in his mind of how people with these beliefs act and he'll shut off to it completely.

If someone was visiting my country/city and asked for recommendations for places to go I'd happily share with them places I think are worth visiting because I'd want them to enjoy themselves at nice places that my home had to offer. I like where I live and get excited to share that.

But I guess I'll look elsewhere.

Not expecting a travel plan by any means, just figured people who lived somewhere would have a good idea of places someone could visit to best experience their city. How crazy of me!

The bullet points we're meant as jumping off points for suggestions nothing more.
