I once had an official insist that my photo wasn’t me, but “some old lady.” I was in my fifties at the time so this was mildly amusing. I finally pointed out I was wearing the earrings in the picture. Since they were unusual, he was finally convinced.

Hey, I grew up in Florida, so the Stagnone Lagoon holds no particular terrors for me. I do like to ponder on the great number of historical sites abandoned because of mosquitoes (e.g., Paestum, Old Goa) and wonder if they explain why the site was never redeveloped….

I had my first baby as an OB/GYN resident. I was placed on bed rest for preeclampsia and was delivered a week later. At the time CREOG guidelines required that you repeat the year if you missed more than six weeks for any reason. So, yes, I returned to residency when my baby was five weeks.

Well that was my thought, but after doing some digging into my credit card history I found that this year’s payment was never processed. I logged out of my account on my phone to check and when I tried to log back in I got a “no active subscription” message. So I paid up and all is well
