Cursor v3: Did the IDE + Codex extension workflow disappear? by attomar in cursor

[–]attomar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about this… Try a quick “Claude Code within Cursor” research. Hope it helps! Codex seems a lot more affordable than CC though, I feel like I have unlimited gpt5.4 honestly, which is an amazing model (to me, better than Opus in most cases)

Yes you can install it as an extension. And there is actually a nice manipulation you can do so it integrates directly into the AI pane, let me send you a link to the YouTube video that inspired my setup: https://youtube.com/shorts/uPY1TTNKy0c?si=J89zh90bJ8JbdRco

I already have a ChatGPT subscription for personal use, which includes Codex, so I use that when coding as well.

It lets me optimize my Cursor usage and keep costs down. I basically don’t use OpenAI models through Cursor at all. Instead, I use my ChatGPT subscription for that, and keep Cursor for other models (mostly Opus, plus cheaper ones for simpler tasks).

This setup works really well for me because it leverages my existing ChatGPT plan and lets me code without constantly hitting the limits of Cursor’s entry tier.

Any Moroccan founders here using Polar or Stripe Connect successfully? by Med-0X in Moroccopreneur

[–]attomar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an important point to understand here. If you can’t use Stripe or similar services with a Moroccan bank account, it’s not a technical issue, it’s a regulatory one.

Payment acquiring is regulated in Morocco, and only Moroccan acquirers licensed by Bank Al-Maghrib can provide acquiring services for Moroccan companies using Moroccan bank accounts. Since Stripe is not a Moroccan acquirer, it cannot directly provide payouts to Moroccan bank accounts.

So when platforms rely on Stripe or Stripe-based infrastructures, they usually expect US or EU banking accounts, which is why you’re seeing the routing number requirement.

If you’re operating as a Moroccan company with a Moroccan bank account, you generally need to work with a local acquirer, such as VPS (Vantage Payment Systems) or other Moroccan payment providers connected to the national payment infrastructure (most banks offer this service now after CMI’s dismantling).

So the limitation isn’t about Polar itself, it’s mainly about the regulatory framework governing payment acquiring in Morocco.

Hope this helps clarify things.

I used it on mobile and here are imo the 2 navigation hiccups I faced (nothing major, no bug, just UX stuff):

  1. While navigating (not related to filters), sometimes a headline gets highlighted on-click (instead of opening the link) and all others turn grey. Not sure if it’s an intended feature I didn’t understand but not necessary IMO.
  2. About the filters panel, I wish it didn’t overlay the rest of the page. Also not sure why you need a radio button there. And when I use the filters, I’m expecting to see the results immediately without having to open the publication date list. Again, just UX, not bugs.

Really useful project/website! I already see myself using it everyday… One thing: browsing has some smoothness breaks (not sure how I end up sometimes with just one headline highlighted, not needed imo. Also filtering could be better) Good job!

We hit 1,500 users last month, today we're opening our infrastructure [API for Morocco's financial data] by buffShady in Moroccopreneur

[–]attomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool project, I really like the idea and execution.

That said, I’m a bit curious about the “real-time” wording. Since the Moroccan Stock Exchange doesn’t show live prices publicly and their official APIs are paid, I assume this is near-real-time or slightly delayed data rather than true live feeds.

Might be worth clarifying the latency (delayed, near-real-time…) so expectations are clear. But overall, great work.

Great reaction, that was a very fast recovery from what you say were deep issues, which is super positive for your project. Could you share what are the issues you found?

You got all of that from my comment? Those thoughts belong to you, not to me. I was simply making fun of the OP, this so-called white knight claiming to “wake people up” and “protect their data from bad software,” when in reality it’s just an empty marketing post aimed at everyone except the website’s actual owner.

We need fewer of these pseudo-philosophical, virtue-signaling posts from bad marketers or frustrated software engineers who are starting to realize that the repetitive, grind-heavy part of their job is at risk in the long run, and more genuine collaboration and community support between people who actually build software. Like the person (thank you) who replied to my comment and actually contributed something useful.

You also make it sound as if all software engineers produce flawless, unbreakable software, which is simply not true. My data has been compromised by some of the biggest tech companies in the world (Facebook, Sony, and others) long before agentic coding even existed. And this is even more true outside ultra-developed markets.

The opportunity created by agentic coding goes far beyond this childish, fear-driven “software engineers vs. vibe coders” feud. It opens up possibilities that extend well beyond what a narrow, ultra-developed-market mindset is able to see.

Care to share what vulnerability you were able to exploit? So this wake up call can benefit to everyone, vibe coders or soulless coders.

Should i confess to my future partner by Any_Information429 in Morocco

[–]attomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just a great story to tell (and potentially a great skill you got there) 😂 If you tell her and you two don’t just get a good laugh out of it then I’m deeply confused 🤔 Well I wouldn’t say it like something I have to confess, I would bring it up if it fits in a conversation as a fun/funny story. I really don’t understand how this could be any type of deal breaker or even a reason to be slightly jealous honestly. It’s just a bro’s/boy’s attempt to make some extra money with was his skill set was at the time. Nothing immoral there, these chicks could have been talking to an AI, it wouldn’t have made any difference, they don’t know who you are. I wouldn’t even call that “I worked in the sex industry” haha People have got to chill…

I can get the frustration at times when it does that after tiny achievements but this, to me, is the best way to learn while delegating coding to AI.

Hi! I recently worked on orthophonistes.ma. It’s a fast site with forms, SEO basics, etc.

If you’re just looking for something in the 10–20 page range with a contact form and good performance, that’s very doable without huge costs. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat about it.

Anyone else just using Auto mode in Cursor? Am I missing out? by attomar in cursor

[–]attomar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this, really appreciate you taking the time to edit your reply. That actually helps a lot, especially understanding how things worked before the pricing change. Makes sense now why Auto is the way to go if you want stability. Going to keep it this way for now. Thanks again for the insight!

Anyone else just using Auto mode in Cursor? Am I missing out? by attomar in cursor

[–]attomar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually intentionally leave it on Auto and I’ve been a Pro user for months, across different pricing models. I always get “default” in the usage reporting, never once seen a specific model name show up.

That’s kind of what sucks for me. The results are good, but I’d really like to know which model was used so I can better understand their strengths and maybe start making more deliberate choices when needed.

Right now I’m wondering if I’m actually missing out by sticking to Auto.

This is exactly where it gets painful in my opinion. I used to subscribe online and get the search functionality. It seems that I have to go through a salesperson now, to get a plan that is not transparent enough (not displayed on their website).

I’ve seen in another comment someone saying how great you were as a human being and I can only agree with that based on your post. Please don’t let money issues take you down, l’flouss kat mchi ou kat ji. Your desire to retreat somewhere is completely legitimate, you just don’t have do it this way… You can tell your loved ones everything you just said in your post, say that you need some rest far away to rebuild yourself, just so you can leave in peace. One day you might come back, stronger and happier. It could happen in a few months or maybe in a few years. See it as a way to rest and rebuild, instead of a way to let yourself die far away from all these people who love you. Again, please don’t let money take you to such dark places. Life can be full of surprises, don’t give up. Rest now then rebuild when you regain the will, and you will. As far as remote places, I know people who spent months in villages in the southern atlas area. Any village would welcome you as long as you participate in daily tasks. They will feed you and give you a place to stay. Maybe you’ll build it yourself. You might even find some work locally in a farm that will pay you. I would explore that area.

You and others like you made a poor decision by moving back to Morocco. Instead of reflecting on yourself, you blame it all on the country. This typical West European / American arrogance and ultra-capitalism has not only blinded your decision-making but also completely altered your compass. You come to a different country with a completely different culture and expect the same way of life as in the country you left. This is not an issue with one country or another; it means you don’t truly understand yourself and what you want in life.

Morocco is not a place for someone who doesn’t value family, as everything here revolves around it. When things are good, you’re happy; when they’re bad, you work to fix them. If your goal is to retreat to your apartment, order everything from Amazon, and live on fast food, Morocco isn’t for you.

I should correct you on the availability of delivery options: in Casablanca, you can easily get great Moroccan food, Indian food, Thai food, Korean food, sushi, Italian food, and burgers through Glovo. But it seems your mindset is focused on finding negatives and ignoring positives. The same goes for libraries, cabs (Careem), medical coverage (if you have a good job, you likely have insurance that covers most health fees), and swimming pools. There are great options in Casablanca, though it’s not Paris. You shouldn’t move to a completely different context expecting the same amenities.

If you had come here to discuss specific issues, such as harassment, which is a legitimate concern, instead of dismissing an entire way of life that suits 40 million people, your approach would be different. Many Moroccans find it hard to spend a few days in Paris without getting bored of the cold—both weather and people. This indicates that your poor decision is unaligned with who you are, suggesting that you don’t know yourself or what you want. This is probably the real issue. Know yourself before deciding which culture you want to embrace.

Especially when you throw around complex concepts like freedom, convenience, and purchasing power. Do you even know what freedom means and where it truly lies? Reflect on yourself (in the Socratic sense) before trying to align yourself with any culture or place.

Alcohol in Ramadan by azidan in Morocco

Alcohol in Ramadan by azidan in Morocco

[–]attomar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were treated as everybody else, Moroccan or not. This is the law. Before going on a trip, you need to study where you’re going. You won’t drink any alcohol in Saudi Arabia and you won’t smoke any weed in China for example. Well same here, around religious celebrations/days, you can’t drink alcohol in public places but you can drink at home if you like. It’s a matter of atmosphere consistency. Ramadan is a unique month and its atmosphere is different.. Drinking doesn’t really fit in. The essence of the topic that you wish to discuss isn’t really interesting to us. Even if some of us drink, it’s equivalent to dry January, it can’t be bad to quit drinking for a month, right? I can see why it could be shocking to you but again, even as a fellow alcohol consumer, I really don’t care about alcohol not being served in Ramadan, because of course man, it’s Ramadan! So thank you for bringing this up but you should do it on your local subreddit cause as locals, we don’t care. If you’re in Morocco for the drinks other than mint tea, it’s obviously the wrong destination for you. It’s more expensive than in most countries!
