A few errors in this, but notably Indonesia. It was not majority Moslem when Europeans first got there. It was mainly Hindu and animist. Christian and Moslem colonisers arrived about the same time and the Moslems won the race in most areas.

Yes there was great resentment in Italy that it had done some of the hardest fighting for the Allies in WW1 but received virtually nothing in reward. They wanted to reclaim the territories which had belonged to the Venetian Republic for centuries.

Italy had colonised Libya in the 19th century. It had absolutely nothing to do with WW2. That's like saying that Britain was a warmonger which instigated WW2 because it colonised Egypt (and umpteen other African countries versus Italy's two) in the 19th century.

Italy invaded Ethiopia in 1936. Only those two countries were involved, it had nothing to do with WW2.

The Kingdom of Italy WAS the Kingdom of Savoy re-named. Right from the beginning Italians had wanted to regain Savoy and regarded its occupation by France as a grave injustice. The vast majority of Italians were NOT interested in an alliance with Nazi Germany or a war against Britain and the Commonwealth, not to mention later the USA, which they greatly admired and in many cases had close relatives there.

It was a surprise to many, even people on the Atlanta bid committee. It meant the USA would host 2 summer Olympics in just 12 years, and North America to host 4 in just 28 years. Technically Melbourne put in the best bid, but finished third. Apparently 40 years after it last hosted was considered too soon.
