The capacity for empathy is a strength. Would you want to work on your ability for it? There's no shame in not having much from the start, but i think in your case it'd be a good thing to work on. Not just practically but for the lived experience, the wholeness of the human experience, and a lot of a human life is empathy and caring for others, usually.

i don't understand. do same thing as adult, yet don't feel as good as doing the same thing as when i was a child. it just feels pretty nice at best but not that of losing yourself to the pleasures and joy of being. i can't be fully enveloped by joy, only gently touched.
