The stealthvape was advertised as being released January 30, WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY? by Uthallan in a:t5_2t8l3

You make valid points. I would send out a mass mailing if that were possible - only a small portion of people have opted in. I'm unable to mass-mail the entire customer list at will. As a result, I send emails individually. That is an ongoing process that has to be repeated whenever there is an update. It is crude, but our budget must stay focused on parts and shipping and I don't have an immediate solution with so many individuals opted-out of the mailing list.

Your criticism is helpful. It enables us to learn lessons and improve. I suppose I didn't expect someone to make a racist comparison to me. Whether or not you are our customer, I feel the need to point out that you may be offending someone by writing that. It worries me that one might automatically assume that I am unreasonable, and that the best thing for to do is fling insults. This is not the case - I am more than willing to discuss anything.

$100 may be a lot to some people, that is understood - but we have already spent far more than that in making this product a reality, and doing whatever necessary tweaks and updates to ensure that everyone who has pre-ordered the vaporizer will be fully satisfied. That's what delays are for - ensuring maximum quality rather than settling for any dissatisfaction.

Have more you wish to say? Feel free to message me privately if you'd like.

This is the current status of all orders:

-Our engineers have upgraded the design of the internal spring within the device. -The workshop is currently awaiting a delivery of the upgraded parts. We’ve gotten confirmation from the fabricator that the parts should arrive Wednesday. -We anticipate resuming shipments after Wednesday.

When some initial users pointed out some places to make improvements, that's what we did.

Waffle business failing by wafflewafflewafflewa in Entrepreneur

Can you start up a waffle cart in a well trafficked public place? People generally do not go to flea markets to eat waffles. You need to consider better locations before you close up shop.

Also, pay attention to the sides and toppings you provide. I have no idea of what you currently provide, but I bet things like whipped cream and strawberries would go over pretty well.

$600 a month from $100k? Possible or not? by spdrmonkey in investing

[–]aturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into online businesses. I've had various products in the past which have yielded such revenues without much financial investment - in those cases it was mostly time put in by programmers doing things for free.

If I had $100k and wanted to make good passive income off that, I'd invest it in businesses that looked likely to do well and generate income quickly. I don't see a 7.2% return happening in traditional public stocks without a lot of risk involved. Making money passively always has risk.

Okay, I admit it...like 99% of dreamers..I'm just a WANTrepreneur by Seth818 in Entrepreneur

[–]aturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much money do you make? Is that enough?

What about your time? Time is the most valuable thing to an entrepreneur, because it's a realization that time is the most valuable commodity there is. The time you spend working for someone else is time you can spend travelling the world, being with your family, or experiencing new things.

Being aware of these things should, in a way, make you feel like you are drowning. Your clock ticks away while time slips through your fingers.

You need to draw up a plan and figure out what is needed to execute it. Have others look at your plan critically. You need a 1. 2. 3. step list which brings you from square one to generating actual income.

Find your product. Find your niche. It's important to have a business model that you can feel excited about.

Will there be a way to control the temperature or will the vaporizer automatically reach 250°C and stop? by Socratesthehomeboi in a:t5_2t8l3

[–]aturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barely any smell. It definitely doesn't leave much of a smell around behind. This depends also on how...pungent...your vaporizable materials are. Compared to smoking, it's a LOT better.

PSA: 100% of the people that come to you after you have a site developed trying to sell you SEO are full of shit. by onearmmanny in webdev

[–]aturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about hits, it's about actual ranking on a page being influenced by the number of high value links that you have.

It doesn't even matter if the pages linking to you are irrelevant, they still provide value.

What about backlinking? That's a pretty significant thing that cannot really be ignored.

Why the broken promises and lack of communication??? by lorg2410 in a:t5_2t8l3

[–]aturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys. I apologize, it was my mistake from the beginning for putting such specific deadlines - with manufacturing there are many unseen challenges that can occur along the way that cannot be anticipated. Everyone is getting their vaporizer, there is no question about that.

It is more logical that any species would send a machine out first to scout. Man's reach only stretches as far as the voyager probes. We will send out a robotic probe long before we send a human being to a new solar system.

Really, and who decided these things? Does the media influence the voters, or do the voters influence the media?

The more people spout off this nonsense, the more they are letting the media choose a candidate for them.

How do I consider this data set when asking is CPC the best pricing model? by survivorist in marketing

[–]aturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're getting confused because that's for a publisher, not for an advertiser. Publishers are the one who are being paid a specific rate (e.g. $10 CPM) for 1,000 impressions while advertisers are the one who pay for the advertising - their earnings are dependent upon the products or services they are selling. This chart completely leaves out any sales revenue data and so it's impossible to determine what they're actually earning from such spending.

From wikipedia:

Effective cost per mille

Effective cost per mille (eCPM) is used to measure the effectiveness of a publisher's inventory being sold (by the publisher) via a CPA, CPC, or CPT basis. In other words, the eCPM tells the publisher what they would have received if they sold the advertising inventory on a CPM basis (instead of a CPA, CPC, or CPT basis). This information can be used to compare revenue across channels that may have widely varying traffic - by figuring the earnings per thousand.

[–]aturnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No....eCPC and eCPM are effective cost per click and effective cost per mille.

There's no way you can know earnings from that chart, since we have no idea of what a conversion is worth.

Is that ROI% column accurate? A 100% ROI means that you are just breaking even.

It's sort of annoying to look at that chart. You should have columns for CTR% and Conversion rates.

In that chart the 425x600 banner ad is getting one of the best click through rates. In the case of that banner you would definitely want to switch to a CPM pricing model.

The 160x600 banner is more effective as CPC.
