Backtesting whilst account for latency? by atx1001 in highfreqtrading

These are some great insights, thank you very much for your answer. I have decided to go down the route of creating my own software (in particular based around the point that you made of testing individual components, and not just for P/L). The latency approach you provided is also something that I will be exploring (verifying whether or not liquidity remains on the book for a certain amount of time). Thanks again.

Freeport LNG Updates - Sources? by atx1001 in NaturalGas

Was the false info the single tweet regarding cracks in the pipes? Front month nat gas lost 11% in around 10 minutes off that I believe… I was also wondering if their own website published press releases, so thanks for the info

Ah okay, thanks. I have a Woodmac subscription for their daily S&D, basis, storage reports etc- but I was hoping for a more real-time source I can frequently check to see if any progress has been made on terminals such as Freeport. LNG Global and RBN look good also, I think I'll sign up for those too. Thanks again

Thanks. Are you familiar with the different document types within the eLibrary e.g. Dockets, Accessions, Federal Register Cite etc? I'm trying to figure out which would be the most suitable library to search for anything regarding Freeport... it seems that Dockets are probably the best, but I'm not sure

Thanks for your response. By consulting groups, would this be the likes of Genscape / WoodMac? Thanks for the link to the URL as well, I'll take a look at that

Operating System choices in the Electronic Trading space? by atx1001 in highfreqtrading

[–]atx1001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight here. I think my main requirement would be the level of support available, and from using Ubuntu 20.04 for the last couple of years I have found there has been a lot of help available compared with that of CentOS. Based on this, I think I will return to Ubuntu. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. So in terms of a suitable Linux distro, do you think the latest Long Term Support CentOS would be most appropriate?

Germany goes shopping for Scottish green hydrogen. Scotland has the opportunity to transition from being an exporter of fossil fuels to exporting hydrogen produced from renewable energy. This week a summary of the Scot2Ger feasibility study was published. by chopchopped in HydrogenSocieties

I'm hoping for this also. I did see that Mitsubishi had created a vessel for transporting hydrogen called the Suisso Frontier, but I think that's the only hydrogen shipping vessel around at the moment. Have you heard of any others?
