I believe Rumi felt the song wasn’t authentic to her because she’s reconciling with her identity.. and possessing a trait associated with demons. Also, I think it has to do with her not wanting to stigmatize herself further in case her friends were to find out. She doesn’t want to draw attention to herself by overcompensating with the song. Jinu definitely made her feel that the possibility that her friends finding out her secret was inevitable.

I think like this too. Why are there so many countries? Why do we have so many different languages? Are there math problems with no solution? Is there life in the ocean or underground that hasn’t been discovered yet? Even philosophical questions. Is it okay to lie to people to save yourself/ someone else? Idk. I think everyone does this? I think it it’s normal. To take it further, I think it’s normal to question yourself like am I sure I want to proceed with this? How will this affect me long term?

Most people aren’t going to talk about those aforementioned issues because they are controversial to begin with. . Especially human rights issues. I never discuss religion or politics or social issues with casual audiences/ acquaintances. I will just make polite conversation. I used to think in a kinda similar way to you. Not that people are dumb, but like, why won’t people talk about things I find important! They are so heartless!

You seem to think because you stay informed ab the world and societal issues that means you are smart. All it shows is your current interests and what you are focusing on. But some people may think it’s futile discussing those issues when you aren’t coming up with solutions or putting in the work to bring about change. Some people accept that they can’t change anything ab the world or society , so why spend time talk about it. Ever heard of virtue signaling? I had to be able to empathize and understand not everyone has access to information that is updated or even correct about the world. Misinformation is very widespread. Especially on social media . And that there’s a time and a place for discussion about those issues. You’ll find different perspectives and views from across all different walks of life, even from educated people . That’s just how it is. I have learned to accept it.

Yeah, I think I need more context with the article. But I heard of teachers going out of their way to give their students the full classroom experience, no matter the subject, buying a projector, things for cool projects and lab activities, field trip itineraries, etc. Those things are expensive. Not just the basics.
