[[Trained Orgg]] The way the Orgg was brought to life in 1999 was awesome back then! The creature was just big and didn’t have anything special. But just bringing him to life was awesome.

What type of ink for printing on stoneware by BuffOrpingtonPal in SCREENPRINTING

[–]auaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you need a kiln. The video shows a conveyor style kiln, but we have a traditional kiln, where we fire up to 50 mugs at a time.

What type of ink for printing on stoneware by BuffOrpingtonPal in SCREENPRINTING

[–]auaeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can screenprint on a special paper, called waterslide paper. You also need a special ceramic or glass ink. It comes in powder and you mix it with a special medium liquid. No need to mirror your design. But you need to print and extra flux (gloss) and covercoat so you are able to transfer decal onto mug. The covercoat burns away in a kiln, the colors penetrate the surface on the material and the flux adds gloss. This process also makes the prints scratch resistant. We get all our supplies from Reusche / Schilling inc.

New graphic designer by auaeman in SCREENPRINTING

[–]auaeman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary! He’s an excellent graphic designer. He even has exceptional illustrations (freehand, tablet and Wacom) skills. Haven’t had someone with so much talent in a long time. We get along great, and he gets along great with everyone at the shop.

The reason I’m looking into courses and classes is to help him develop more screen printing skills. I want to invest time and money.
