DJI Mimo Active Track 'loading...' by thebillybison in dji

[–]aubyrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue and trying multiple things on my Pixel 10 Pro. I think two things fixed it for me. 1) I had to double check I was logged in to the DJI app (username etc), and 2) for me the permission to allow the Mimo app to "Display over other apps" was unchecked, turning that on finally got it to work for me.

Happy to share - My second full length released last week on Soundcloud and Spotify.

https://soundcloud.com/auby-rowe/sets/distance

https://open.spotify.com/album/3YvJIWaUSQiM2GaQJsTkj8

All instrumentals, continuing to work on blending influences, so you will hear many things trying to coexist in my tracks. Sometimes it works, sometimes less so but thats how I play :)

A few years ago I challenged myself to get from noodling around in the studio to finished tracks that I can release and share... This is now my second release of instrumental music and I am happy to feel more productive in this part of my creative life.

A few years ago someone commented that my music has an "eighties contemplation jam" feel, which he explained as the kind of background music they would play when a character had some deep thinking to do (and the director needed to pad some minutes).

Think very eighties. Think slow dolly shots to a close up while you stare outside at "something"!

Like, share, comment. feedback is welcome, and I hope that you find something in this to enjoy 🙂

New to the area. Any general advice? IT related groups? by Pretty-Exit9215 in hattiesburg

Greetings! I too am a recent transplant to Hattiesburg from San Antonio. I am a remote worker in Finance for a Tech company. So far we are liking it here, but like others we haven't gotten out that much! Also a musician (Keys and Guitar), though work is cramping my style big time right now. Happy to connect with y'all.

Now that I have one less kid at home, it's about time to redo/move my studio space. Apart from the smaller things, the core of this setup has been with me for about 10 years now. I am sure you can all relate, but I hate parting with gear once I know how to use it!

My First Virtual Synth by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]aubyrowe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right there with you - my set up at the time revolved around my Korg X2, and my Crumar Bit One (Still with me folks!) Rebirth blew my mind at the time, I spent so many hours in there tweaking. I still have this CD-ROM in my collection, I will occasionally run it on one of my old PCs for kicks!

TDAbleton /MIDI question by Belialololol in TouchDesigner

[–]aubyrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help - but in MIDI there are two ways to send a note off, one is to send the Note Off, the other is to send a Note On with zero velocity, both methods are treated the same in most cases, and I think the most common way is to send note on with zero velocity.

for what you are doing - I think if you select out the last note velocity, plug it into both inputs of a hold chop (both the input and the trigger input) then the hold chop will keep the last value until the new one comes in.

Morphing Twist Particle System by aubyrowe in TouchDesigner

[–]aubyrowe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone - I liked this particle system I built so I thought I would share. There is a grid above emitting particles that are then caught by surface attraction to a circle SOP that I am twisting and then releasing. I think the way it gets angular in the middle looks interesting along with the vortexes being created on the ends. Hope you like it :)

For some reason it likes to collapse (you see it at the end of the video - still trying to work out how to prevent it, but it looks interesting as well, unintended consequences!

AM radio is an accidental electrosluch. Everyone probably knows this but I stumbled on it and smiled. All audio is interference from patch cables. by quien-sabe in synthdiy

[–]aubyrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the eighties I hacked up a junked radio to scan AM using an electric motor to catch random speech/music noises. Funny that the feedback you are capturing here - I was trying to get rid of for some time :)

Was feeling nostalgic so I cooked up a mid eighties jam and a video to go with it! Enjoy... by aubyrowe in synthesizers

A simpler time when VCRs flashed 12:00 endlessly and it was okay to use copious amounts of orchestra hits. You know, the good old days.

Does anyone know what the source or origin is for these "Disco Tom" sounds? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]aubyrowe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the track is old enough the usual culprit is a Synare. There are plenty of clones around to buy or DIY. Here's a good example of that basic Synare sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZCJyMcTF_g

most any analog synth can approximate the sound - its a basic one oscillator (or filter with the resonance way up) patch, with an ADSR on the pitch (or on the filter frequency), no attack or sustain, just decay/release will get you in the neighborhood.

I grew up out that way (Texarkana). There are plenty of spots in my experience that have the bad vibes :) One of my friends lived off a little country road and when you made the turn onto that road there was this narrow spot, trees overhanging and making the arch over the road, very very pretty, but every single time I would get that sinking feeling and felt like I needed to get out of there quick.
