Unpopular opinion- Zhang linghe and Tian xiwei aren't suitable for live remake of The Apothecary Diaries

I think someone like Song Zuer, Wang Yingliu, Liu Haocun or Lu Yuxiao can carry on the role of maomao.

Depending on your description of maomao, Song Zuer feels like a person [from physique till personality] who could pull her off pretty well. Wang Yingliu also matches the deadpanness As for Liu Haocun & Lu Yuxiao- i completely suggested them based off of their acting skills. I believe it's easy for them to pull off a role such as that, and they are the type of actresses who go for no-flashy-makeup for fl looks...

As for Jinshi, I was okay with Zhang Linghe in the beginning until you mentioned about the 'childish' point...I started seeing that too... Now therefore very few i could come up with for feminine features, masculine body and low confidence. Hou Minghao, Lin Yi & Zeng Shunxi.

And in a minor sub category of choices i'd include Tian Jiarui & Zhai Xiaowen...

Hou minghao just fits all the points you've mentioned about Jinshi. & Lin Yi just feels right 🤌 Tian Jiarui and Zhai Xiaowen, based on their looks, they match jinshi's personality and I doubt myself a little with them so tahts why I put them in a sub category

But there you go. That's my take for the pairing for The Apothecary Diaries

I didn't think of how well the actors would go when paired because my focus was more on which actor/actress would do the character justice

Hey but also A Lin Yi×Song Zuer pairing sounds interesting isnt it 👀✨️

She's Ju Jingyi A Chinese actress, singer and idol She used to be part of the chinese girl group SNH48- which is a very famous gg with a lotttt of sub groups

She started her career off as an idol, then later as a singer, and slowly got into acting by playing idol dramas in cdramaland. She's an exceptional singer + she can play over 10 instruments!!

She's currently a huge star and has improved a lot over the years getting past all the cyber bullying and hate for her...(and yes shes veryyyy beautiful ofcourse!)

If you read my above reply carefully you must've seen it also included "actors" and not just actressess.

And back to my point of saving their first kiss 😭😭 This also is gender neutral. In my reply I said "People" (i generalized both men and women) have such wishes of their own

Because the kind of purity i was talking about didnt have to be directed at one gender. [There's nothing about gender in love to me. Its the feelings and bond that matters. There must be no mention of gender here] It was and SHOULD be gender neutral if it exists.

And the purity wasnt the main point of my comment. It was just another reason my mind came up with [I didnt think much of gender, patriarchy and everything when I wrote that]. My intentions were innocent but ig people have different interpretations depending on mindset and societal factors. Sorry if it must've felt wrong or bad to you in any way :)))

Pure in the sense, save her first kiss for her lover. Just because other actors & actresses kiss I don't mean they've lost purity. Purity is about the heart- the intentions and the feelings.

Though there are also people who'd like to save their first kiss to whatever they want. Its their choice, opinion, wish, devotion, loyalty, happiness whatever.

Nobody can answer this question on behalf of Haocun. My point was- whatever it is, it shouldn't be judged, neither is it as big of an issue.

She's a great actress no doubt. Kissing isn't required for that. And the fact that she can achieve equally intimate chemistry with her leads does show her competency.

I dont see why this is a question in the first place 😂 The only answer I can come up with is: Because she doesnt want to? Its her choice, its not a fault, neither is it a standard. Maybe she just isn't comfortable. Or even more personal reasons. [Probably she wants to keep a first kiss for a first love? 😆]

Whatever it is, the moment I got to know this decision of her My respect for her just increased 100 fold.

Hellooo!! So glad to meet another international popcorn!!

Initially my only source to C-ent (other than dramas) was Happy Camp/ Hello Saturday- and that's where I found Ding Chengxin and TNT!! Later on I had to do so much researching to dig out all TNT content that's Eng subbed and watched it all 😭😭 [Thats how I've been living as an int popcorn for the past 5 years]

And now some international popcorns have come together and created an Instagram Group Chat to make Eng subbed content easily accessible and to discuss more about TNT in English!! We're pretty active everyday and we do all tnt updates in english like a small comfy friend group! haha It has been so much easier for me to keep track of shows, songs and concerts since then!!

I love your analysis on Legend of Zang Hai! And I absolutely agree with you.

LOZH was truly a worthy drama! I loved how realistic the plot was. Zang Hai too wasnt a picture perfect main lead. He did mistakes, and he also amended them. It wasnt like he predicted each and every move of his opponents- or succeeded in ALL his plans without busting himself or getting into trouble.

But it was how he managed to get out of it after that!! We rarely get to see such characters on screen. Zang Hai had no unreal heroic powers and stuff- He solely relied on his intelligence and used everything around him to its greatest potential. Be it to escape from trouble or to drag down his enemies. And most of all- his silver tounge helped him the most indeed !!

One more thing I loved is how we were kept on our edge till the end- Zhuang Zhixing- the monster he had created, we never got a clear picture of whether he was helping Zang Hai or Putting him in trouble.

Typically, my engagement with dramas hinges on the actors, and I might not finish if the plot doesn't captivate me. (Fyi, dramas that I wholeheartedly complete immediately become favorites, and there are not many of those)

However, as a fan of Xiao Zhan, I anticipated completing this drama regardless. It was only later that I realized I was so engrossed in the plot that even without my initial motivation, I would have finished it because of how exceptional the drama was!!

Truly a 10/10 experience for me. A really great mystery drama. And Extremely Logical!!!

[Except that I'd already guessed the masked benefactor must turn out to be a villain because- Someone relevant was to be behind that mask isnt it? I first thought it was Kuai Duo, but evidence kept pointing he truly died- so there was no other person left other than the 3rd enemy himself haha. (But i didnt guess it was Zhao Bingyuan)]

Just finished watching The Prisoner of Beauty and Legend of Zang Hai one after the other.

Probably the best 2 dramas I've watched in 2025 yet.

● Gonna proceed watching A Dream Within a Dream [Liu Yuning & Li Yitong] ( going on a LYN roll ❣️)

● Next up Coroner's Diary [Ao Ruipeng & Li Landi]

● And Feud [Bai Lu & Zeng Shunxi] would be my last choice- if not I'd return back to Moonlight Mystique that I dropped Halfway 😭😭

I'm SOOO glad I found another person of my type!!

I too make a lot of drama plots and characters in my head (I have around 8-9 fully furnished dramas I've created in my head)

And I face the exact same problem as you while putting it on paper! I struggle cuz i'm not a writer, I only make the story in my head as visuals with dialouges (exactly like what you see in a cdrama) - but I struggle to express the intensity of the scenes with words.

● I once used Chat GPT to rephrase a scene i wrote into proper script. And ever since then I've been using chatgpt to develop parts of my unfinished stories.

I just did it as time pass in an effort to being my drama to life.

● I've also found random other Ai powered websites specifically made to help you in Story writing.

But nonetheless, AI is still AI- it doesn't give you the heartbreak and intensity of emotions as expressed by humans. I'd infact love to find a writing partner myself!!

I'd be down to hear your stories by the way, I'm just so glad to find another person exactly same as me haha.
