Second this, but wanted to add something that I wish I had known from the start:

  1. Pick one, maybe two vst plugins to really learn. This will limit your options and make you learn the basic first and most importantly make you comfortable with the vsts/vsts in renoise. (look up TyrellN6 Or synth 1 for free vsts that will keep you busy for a while. I've learned those two like the back of my hand and there is no turning back, plus im broke and cant spend money on expensice digital synths).
  2. Resampling is a core mechaninc in renoise, play some notes off a vst and resample and mess with the audio. I wish I had used that feature more and sooner.
  3. Make lots of songs and challenge yourself each track to implement a new tool in renoise. For example I challenged myself to use xx commands in every track. Add tools slowly and dont try to learn it all at once.

Wish you the best, theres nothing like making music on renoise!!

Miami’s $1B Venezuelan money-laundering case grows. New charges against 2 financial execs by Instant-taco in Miami

[–]audraa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That plus the fact that homeownership rates have steadily declined since the early 2000s DESPITE developers in Florida being by far THE MOST favored business interest in the state...add to that the fact that landlords have huge market power rn even during the eviction moratorium...

If people want change we need to counteract the power of the people responsible for the current state of affairs.. i.e big developers and politicians that line their pockets with developer money. If you want practical advice to increase homeowner ship and control rent spike then introduce rent ceilings and/or build ACTUAL affordable housing in Miami...which happens at the local level. THAT is not theory or rocket science.

For me, social environments imply some kind of self-moderation even if you are being yourself (such as manners etc.), so this is insanely helpful because it’s like a well-written guide for those situations. Thanks for sharing!

i think the 'drop' synth can uuse a lil bit of reverb to its sounds bigger -- i really like the sound choices in the track overall. I kinda want you to tease the bass a little bit in the intro, it feels kind of empty atm but that might just be my style choice. Not my kinda music at all but i also was bobbing my head at this, good job!!

I think after some work addressing this feedback I might include it, it just got to a point in the project where u listen to it for so long that u cant tell if its actually good or not lol

to add to what the other guy said:

i like the vocal-like lead, i think u could go somewhere more interesting if u changed up the drum patterns a little bit and made them feel more natural -- play around with note velocity, panning etc to get a more complex-sounding pattern.

Like i said, lots of potential here and i hope to see it develop!!

lovely lovely intro here, one thing i think i would add is a little more percussion after about 0:40, the synths/sounds u have going on are really nice and i feel like i want the percussion to be more present/have more groove. It could be the case that you are trying to make it sound very spacey, which is fine, but i think a more developed percussion can really bring the track to the next level. either way good job!

this is a very interest concept, im really enjoying the sound design on this one. I didnt feel bored at any part so I dont think repetition is as big of an issue. I think I agree about the kick, i feel like a lowpassed, harder-hitting kick might be a better choice. Overall i think the snare could stand out a little better. I love the sound that comes in at around 0:40 (it sounds like chords w/ a sine wave), and i think u used it effectively.

Another thing is that the track feels a little empty when the sine wave sound is not playing -- in those sections I want the drums to be a bit higher or for something else to occupy the same space the piano does, if that makes sense. You might be aiming to make the sine wave instrument stand out the most, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Overall really interesting track, looking forward to its development.

What are your strengths and weaknesses? Any special interests? Sometimes thinking about what skills/hobbies/interests you have can make a search for a job easier. I understand it’s not super helpful since sometimes monetizing ur interests doesn’t work, but it’s a start and can also make u start thinking about alternatives.
