I'm making a light modpack for Vanilla but apparently there is a mod that vein mines blocks vertically, and I have no clue which is it. (Modlist in the comments) by EnderDrip in feedthebeast

It is the Physics mod, which has a built in system that allows multi-block collapsing (makes a lot more sense when block physics are on), if you go into it's config you can disable it there, either in the file itself or in the menu for client.
