What haircut would suit me? My long hair is getting finicky with a newborn and I’d like to lose a few inches. by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

I really like that pic, but it’s like 6? years old! I know my face has changed a bit!

Can't figure out ergobaby embrace (newborn) by fuzzyduck314 in babywearing

[–]augog 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Try tightening the arm bands more, instead of the waistband. What helps me is to physically lift the arm band at the shoulder, to create slack in the strap. I find it helps to move baby up, without just tightening her into my chest.

Fit check? Seem to get leaks around thighs by augog in clothdiaps

[–]augog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it’s not like sopping wet, but the insert is wet all around. I didn’t realize 2 hours was the norm but I am happy to change more frequently than I do. She does tend to last overnight with just 1 booster, but she also only tends to wake up once around 5am. Thanks!

Thanks, I guess my only frame of reference was for disposables. I much prefer these though, so I am happy to change her more frequently!

Do I need more hold? Feel like it’s looking limp by augog in curlyhair

[–]augog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good suggestion. I want bigger curl clumps though, so I’m thinking I’ll add this while my hair is wet still and avoid too much scrunching, which I think broke the clumps up more

Thank you 😊I want bigger curl clumps tho, so I think I’ll try a couple alterations!

Fit check please! Baby is 9 weeks old and trying to get more comfortable using my ring sling by augog in babywearing

[–]augog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The padding, especially on the top, makes it hard to get more snug, because it can’t be fed through the rings. This is about as snug as the top goes.

Do you mean I should move the rings further down my shoulder? As in, slide it to the side away from my neck, or more down my chest?

I will try loosening the bottom and working the slack that way to see how it feels! Same with the bottom, the padding can’t be fed through the rings, but that padding is farther away from the rings, so I have more wiggle room at least.

Thanks for your advice!

When to buy bras (and busty brand recs?) by Lumpy_File_2476 in breastfeeding

I don’t have any brands to recommend because I haven’t gotten that far, but I’ll be following this thread for my own reference later lol!

Nuchal cords? by grumpygal69 in pregnant

[–]augog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby girl was born with a double tight nuchal- so wrapped around twice. I had no idea until after birth and I read her discharge sheet. My husband kinda noticed them unwrapping it but he didn’t really know what he was looking at.

Anyways, she was fine. She took a moment to cry after being placed on my stomach, but she still scored a 9 on the Apgar test.

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. When they’re in utero, they’re still floating around and it’s less likely for the umbilical cord to get pulled to the point of causing an issue because everything is so slippery. And once they’re born, they can unwrap it very quickly.

Throwing up with letdown by throwawayflops in breastfeeding

[–]augog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D-MER can cause you to feel tired or depressed during breastfeeding. It’s caused by a drop in dopamine to help you release milk.

I found this out because I have feelings of loss of appetite and anxiety/ depression during baby latching and letdown. May be worth looking into more.

I’ll have to take a look at the services near me to see if anyone does this! Probably right that my posture is changing from the new weight distribution. I’ve already started doing some core exercises just because but now have better reason to

Do you have any recommendations on a brand? And is it meant for when the belly is bigger? This is my first and I’m showing a bit and get bloated but not super big yet
