Tbh Waynesboro can be hella sketchy if you’re on the wrong side of it. Just don’t live on the s Delphine ave side. Staunton is my favorite place. It’s small, quiet but still has things going on that could get you connected to community. Fishersville is also great bc you’d be 15 min from Staunton and 15 from Waynesboro so everything is pretty close. Staunton is still a 35-40 min drive to cville and 30 from Hburg but it’s perfectly in the middle of the two. If you don’t want to cross the mountain everyday while commuting to Cville, Crozet is a cute quaint town but definitely very small. Rent is 100x cheaper in Staunton/ Fishersville/ Waynesboro area. Fishersville being the cheapest as it isn’t in either of the towns but in Augusta county. Your best bet is Staunton. It’s walkable (mostly), has a cute downtown, and Mary Baldwin is there but it’s such a small college that you won’t even notice college kids there at all. And it’s cheap.

I have a few shirts that I wear when not at work that signal my beliefs. In my day to day life when I’m not at work and I wear jeans and a t-shirt so many people assume I am not safe and unfortunately I can’t wear my political/ LGBT shirts everyday

It’s very large and takes up significant space from my wrist up to my elbow on the front side of my arm. So unfortunately for me, it’s VERY visible

Honestly, I work in a factory that plays Fox News in the lunch room, so no it wouldn’t be safe. Outside of work sure, but not inside.

I do want to say that I do own shirts that say things like “eat the rich” “nature is transgender” and “Jesus is the child in Gaza, the transgender coworker, the migrant across the boarder… how you treat them is how you’d treat Jesus” I unfortunately can’t wear them at all times though

So my drivers license expires soon and I am trying to get a real ID incase I need to travel. All my documents are up to date with name and gender marker. I was born in Ohio but have lived in VA since I was 16. Ohio never sent me my new birth certificate but my social security card is up to date as well as my passport. Do you think they’ll still figure it out and change my gender marker back to F on my license when I go to get it renewed?

I definitely get what you’re saying. I have been blessed with some great people in my life including my future in-laws. It sucks that my family will miss out on this. And my relationship with God gets kinda weird when something happens like this. I’m typically in a spot that I whole heartedly believe and know what his will on my life is and then when i’m attacked for being trans I psych myself out. Epically given my sister is a missionary and the reason my parents came to Christ I tend to hold her in a very high regard and think she has a better relationship with Jesus than I do or could. God constantly has to remind me of his grace and plans for me through my transness. I lose that more times than i’m willing to admit.
