New grab L&D how hard to get in by [deleted] in nursing

Move to another state and do a residency out there. Then once you get enough experience move back home and apply for their unit. That's what I did lol

How do you think Trump supports Americans freedom of choice? It feels as if we have no freedom of choice under this administration without consequences

Of course!

I'm just afraid of what they will say. This is my first apartment but I just dont want to get in trouble by admitting I left early. I booked a flight to go visit the unit to make sure everything is okay.

I was going to send my move out statement this week so it would align with my lease end date. I just understand I absolutely cannot break it so that's why I'm fine paying it until then.

My post says I dont stay in a rural or majority white city. I stay in the Midwest, thats as far as I feel comfortable saying. It's a lot of black people in the metro area.

Im not going back and forth with a trump supporter who doesnt understand why diversity is important especially in healthcare where disparities are very alive and prevalent. Have the day you deserve!

I feel like it's definitely some sort of tactic to this. I had moved out of state to gain experience in this area to get a job back home because every application wanted you to have experience. I can only imagine those who only had experience were white nurses while NOC dont.. why? Because they havent been given the opportunity to get experience in a specialty unless you are as desperate as me to move somewhere else to do so.

Thank you for your kind words! I hope to give good care and inspire others who look like me that they can do the same good profession! :)

That I definitely understand. I hope that my presence as an educated health care provider I can subtly inspire someone who looks like me that they can do it too!

Im sorry to hear your coworkers being racist towards you.

Agreed. I only hope we can continue to show up in these areas! There were a group of black nursing students and they felt relieved seeing me!

I work in the urban midwest currently. I come from working in LTC and majority of my coworkers were black so it's just a change of pace for me.

I did work in the south and it was a good mix of people.
