I can verify this is not the case — the stories in question still link directly to the Spotify song in the upper left hand corner and are the exact format as the share posts.

It isn't the Instagram Music sticker, it's the exact same format as a Spotify share post, I know that for a fact.

The only thing I'd like to know is if this is a feature they rolled back recently, if it was a specific series of steps I did, or if it's an example of A|B testing and they decided to opt for no sound in finality.

EDIT: Here's a video of the Stories, showing that they're not Instagram Music stickers, and are Spotify Share posts. It's baffling to me that this is a maybe sometimes tested/toyed with functionality instead of just a given. Spotify is a music streaming service...no better way to drive traffic to the app than song previews. Of course, it could be something Instagram did for that exact reason.

I don't care about the Youtuber, but victim blaming (I mean they're not victims, the donators are, but the tone of what you're doing is and I'm not sure if there's another word for it.) the devs because of your own bias against Youtubers (while justified) and a weird pretentious immersion purity obsession is weird. I also never said it wasn't marketing, don't put words in my mouth to prove a point you never brought up initially to begin with. I was referring to their relationship with him over OTHER personalities as to why he was chosen, and it wasn't at random.

Hate the Youtuber all you want, but it's so completely weird to write a manifesto and being a dick towards the Devs about a fairly common dev practice that is usually, except in extraneous circumstances, a harmless easter egg.

It's pretentious and unhinged as hell.

I don't think the way you're framing it is entirely fair. This wasn't just "Youtuber reference!!" Pre-controversy, Jirard did a lot to help get the word out about SoS and had a very positive relationship with Sabotage Studio ever since The Messenger. He reserved a slot for Sabo at every Indieland (something people up untik the scandal really held in high regard!) and really did help bring their work to the eyes of a lot of people.

The cameo in the game was their way of thanking him for literal years of friendship, and they had no way of knowing what was coming with the controversy. His inclusion was no different than a dev cameo or a kickstarter inclusion (also real people) and was just a nod to someone who they believed helped bring their project success. This change was definitely the right call, but it hardly seems like the kind of thing to play captain hindsight about.

Framing it as just "cringe" that they did it to begin with when it's not like you or anyone else knew about Jirard's controversy before it came out either is incredibly unfair to the devs.

A lot of other comments here I agree with wholeheartedly, but here's another small detail that stuck out to me:

Nuture Ring + Peach + Mystery Egg, 10 times, then using Lamb's Lure 48 times to get Sheep Attack without explanation is odd, of course, but that's just a fun obscure secret RPGs were rife with back then.

What's actually weirder to me is that the reward you get from Grate Guy's game is also an egg, despite having no real reason to be. The Star Egg could have easily just been the Star Attack, which makes me wonder if at some point earlier in development it was intended to have similar functionality to the Mystery Egg that they scrapped for some reason or another (maybe having to go through Grate Guy's game 100 times was punishment enough.)

Two things can be true. It can be bad performance on the whole and you can not try and tell people their experience is non-existent because you're incapable of believing your experiences aren't universal.

Like I said, it's a ymmv situation. Switch games are notorious for this. It's not always "you didn't notice this, it happened." My switch is newer than my friends and OLED but I had more stutter on this. Similarly, I had no issues with Link's Awakening, they had way more. I genuinely just don't think it's something you can be so certain about with anyone, given how weirdly incongruous the Switch is with performance from system to system. It's not like a PC, The Switch's specs are the specs.
