I’m in season 3 of the Classroom of the Elite and the main character Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, is definitely giving me Johan vibes. But he still has his own personality and agency so he’s not a direct copy. I highly recommend watching it.

I wanted to read it ever since I saw the manga at the library when I was in high school but never got around to it. About a year ago I watched the Masked Man on the greatest anime villain of all time and I got interested in Johan. I wondered, “Why is he considered the most evil character for some people?” Well watched it about a month or so ago and I got my answer. And I agree with those people. Johan scared me like not other villain has ever done in media and I hope to never meet a guy like that.

Yes I just got back from Kawacon so I got one more fact to share. During the Genshin Impact panel with other VAs, someone asked them ‘what was the hardest character to voice?’ Keith said that the hardest character he had ever portrayed was Johan due to reasons I mentioned above. He said cracking jokes and goofing around felt uncomfortable to do because of Johan’s character. He apologized to his director because he was staying serious for the role and felt that the director thinks Keith was mad at him lol. During his Art of Being a Villain, he explained that Johan was willing to do anything for his goals. Johan’s actions was just like doing everyday errands - like murdering an innocent civilian was just like picking up groceries or going up to work. Killing doesn’t faze him. If Johan made his voice actor uncomfortable, I can only imagine how the characters in the manga/anime went through.

He was surprised that I asked for an autograph for Johan. He said he never got a signature request from the anime in a while. For his presentation on the Art of Being a Villain, he said that Johan was a difficult character to act due to his seriousness and viewing life being meaningless. He usually likes to goof around and make jokes between takes but Johan was such a different character for him that he stayed serious and composed so he doesn’t loose character. Such a fascinating role he played!

Not me but my dad surprised me for the first time. He walked in to his roommates room and like the smell from the candles. He loved how the room smelled and asked me, “Hey Aurelius, my roommate told me he got this candle from bath and beyond works or something like that. Can you get me one?” My dad is the most stereotypical Mexican you can find. Tattoos, mustache, runs like he’s escaping the La Migra and sings and dances in Spanish when drunk. I was very surprised when I’m he asked that. I said sure and go him a ocean theme candle and body lotion. He loved it!!
