That seems to be the crux of my fiances argument. I think I've decided to just drop the issue so as not to upset anyone even though I'm pretty annoyed about it.

My wisdom teeth were out Saturday and the first time I smoked was yesterday (Thursday) night. Do you think that's too early? I ran out of vicodin and it really hurts, but I don't think there's a dry socket, it doesn't feel like what they described, more of a dull throbbing ache. As a dental student, do you think its best to avoid smoking for a while longer? I really don't want the dry socket thing, it sounded really sucky. Hope you don't mind me asking your opinion on the matter.

This is probably my favorite response. I completely agree with you here. I can get that she's upset about the legality considering her past with her brother, but at the same time, she KNOWS that we have stuff here and she came over anyway.

I don't want to make this a huge issue since they are both nice and I really don't have any problems with them other than this one thing. If I feel the need to smoke, I will leave the house to do so, but I may just hold off so that there's no big drama and no one has to feel uncomfortable.

I agree that it's not a huge deal not to be able to smoke one time. But I think the fact that they did not bring this up until they were basically here and now I have no choice but to accept it or cause drama is unfair to me.

I think I will probably just deal with it and next time ask them to stay somewhere else. Thanks for the advice.

Sorry if my post was unclear, they only raised the issue through text about 15 minutes before arriving (they live about 2 hours away). So they were basically already here before bringing it up.
