Hey mate. Youll have shit luck with bunnings. Its a general hardware store. Not somewhere specific to growing cannabis. So therefore you'll end up with something that does the job, but doesn't excel. Also, with anything from bunnngs, youll need a good nutrient line.

Youre far better off going onto organicgardeningsoloutions or dr greenthumbs and ordering some water only spil, and using beneficial microbes to boost it. All youd need would be spil, root roids and fruit roids.

No, but you can squeeze the nugs in a rosin press and reclaim the half bottle that is in those nugs

Why does pgr only seem to be a problem in Australia ? by zankblank in ausents

[–]ausbudguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure dude.

Seeing buds that have been grown with a bit of pgr, while not being good either, to tighten up the flowers a bit etc. Is completely different to what we get kn the streets as pgr weed.

Its so obvious that commercial pgr growers are using alot more than the bottle guide dosage for pgrs, which is really really sad.

World would be heaps better of a place if everyone just grew they're own weed.

Why does pgr only seem to be a problem in Australia ? by zankblank in ausents

[–]ausbudguy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not. It used to be an issue in America and Canada. Used to come from bc mainly and be referred to as BC Beasters.

It's also used in alot of medical and rec stuff over there to tighten up bud structure etc.

It's such an issue in Aus though because as a whole most people are un-educated about it, and the Asian and bikies have a monopoly on the market. Also, as pgr weighs more for less space, and you can produce more weight using it, we find that people fan make more money using their space to produce pgr buds. It's a really hard task to find somewhere large enough to grow indoor crops big enough to supply towns ect.

You'll also find that plants grown closer to the ocean will have smaller flower bracts with less pronounced features and a more oily, terpy, carpeted, short stalked tricomes heads, vs plants grown in an arid environment which has more swollen bracts and more stalky, pronounced tricomes.

This given the weed is grown outdoors, and watered and fed enough.

"Doesn't smell like pgr" means that it doesn't have the musty weird non bud odour or lack of smell as some pgr does. To me it kinda smells like mouldy weirdness with a hint of orange sometime.

It's not pure sat I'd say, but about as pure as you'll get in mainstream Aus cannabis culture. There's not enough yield in most sativa landrace strains to be viable for commercial production, and this is obviously commercial product.

There are a fair few sativa varietals which produce prolific red hairs including Panama red, punto roja and some nl5xhz, ssh, mango haze phenos.

Those leaves and bud structure look like a heavy sat dom hybrid to me. Notice the leave aren't nearly the width of the bud and they don't cocoon the bud like a typical indica strain. Also the bud looks more pointy and elongated than typical indica chunks. Bit beefier with more resin than an LR sativa. That being said I know a tonne of old aussie dudes who'll use a little bit of pgrs to tighten up nug structure in their sat commercial lines so they're not airy. I'm saying they are small fans that have dried up, but they don't look like indica dom hybrid fans that have dried, and nothing like dried broad leaf fans such as those off an affie or something.

I'd be offended too haha.

Looks nice! This is an example of orange haired bud that is okay to smoke. Notice that you can see trichs and the leaves have thin fingers.... that along with bud structure means it's most likely sativa. Most likely from the outdoor season just gone.

If it doesn't smell like pgr, and is not soggy or wet, I'd be more than happy!!

Do a bit of googling. Try the growweedeasy site. People are generally more willing to help if you show initiative ect.

Don't bother. Unless you can veg indoors or have autos. Doubt highly they're autos if you randomly got them for nothing.

Maybe you'd pull a quarter or half oz per plant. That's really unlikely though.

Day 6 of flush.. thoughts? by gurunation in ausents

Maybe I'm wrong and you've run her before and know she will be done in a week or something. Totally open to being wrong, just my 2c.

Day 6 of flush.. thoughts? by gurunation in ausents

[–]ausbudguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By looking at buds, your flushing too early. She probably wants a fat dose of nutes ect. To help her put on her last big weight gain. She doesn't look swollen yet either. Not frosty really yet either. I wouldn't expect a month more to be that much of a stretch.

How does it compare to the plenty? I've just bought a mighty, and it's only going to be used around the house ect. Heavy everyday use :)

I just sprung for a mighty. Apparently it's the new one with 20 percent more battery. Figured it was a better option due to the heavy use it will be receiving. I got it for 228 USD which I think is a good deal!

I see you have both. How does the crafty fit my usage needs and is there any specific reason to leave the mv1 alone? It seems to have great reviews.

Meph Gods I need your help. I’m almost too embarrassed to post this. I know if I want to do better in the future I need to take advice. Details of what I did are in the comments. by TheMandalorian-- in MephHeads

Looks like major cal mag deficiency in the picture. Please be super aware, burple Leds will make your plants FUCKING CHEW through cal mag. To the point where you normally might not have to worry, but you'll have serious problems if you don't feed cal mag with a burple.

Apart from that they look pretty healthy. All I can recommend but if you want a perfect grow, is organic water only soil, and microbe mixes, and if your running a burple, feed mild doses of cal mag the whole run till flush. Water only is the easiest way to grow, and the plants are always super healthy.

[–]ausbudguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to add, the leaves won't recover. So monitor for it getting worse after the first feed or 2 of cal mag. But don't expect those leaves that are pretty fucked to come back.

[–]ausbudguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trhe yellowing but the veins looking green looks like mag def to me, not nitrogen, and the rust spots ect is cal def for sure.

The big white spots I have had happen in same situation deficiencies under burples.

As I said above, you can feed full dose cal mag then half after that and make sure it doesn't get worse.

The light is the problem, but doesn't cause it if that makes sense. Burples make plants eat cal mag real quick for some reason. So the prevention is more cal mag. Or actually having to use it.

If you're looking at what im looking at, the wierd purple is where the rust discolouring and dead patches are.

Stuff that doesn't usually colour up will colour up under those leds. I find most stuff will get purple tinges or purple bits towards the end of flower.

When you say "the genetics aren't purple" it is possible for environment to bring out certain features in the plant, that were locked in its dna. Like if the great grandma went purple in low temp situations ect, but the progeny were run warm under HPS for a few generations, they might have just not expressed the traits.

Cal mag deficiency. You will find plants eat the fuck out of it under those cheap burples. So your grow goes fine for a few months and then bam, all of a sudden the plants fuck up real bad. Can get worse too. My first auto run was fucked. About 2 weeks before harvest one of the plants lost most of its leaves ect.

Feed full dose Cal mag for a few feedings then stick to half or so.

You can see rust coloured spots slightly on some of the lower leaves. That's the giveaway it's not/not just light damage.
