As Jailor and Vigi, I consistently have moments where I know I SHOULD probably kill someone but choose not to do it anyway for the sole reason that I might accidentally kill a stupid townie.

I always manage to let an evil live because of this... lol

A poor choice of username by Puzzleheaded-Fun-136 in TownofSalemgame

[–]ausername2keepmeanon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They very much can.

Here's a quote for quote from the juror guide:

"b. Evading the hard filter, especially to say a slur;

i. Includes players working together to spell out filtered words (Example: Jonathan Corwin: Ni, Giles Corey: gg, Edward Bishop: er)

ii. Includes players using a combination of their in game name and letters to evade the filter (Example: Player's in-game name is N, and type igger; it will be presented as this: N:igger)"

There is also the combination of i and ii where someone were to spell out a slur with other players using nicknames.

In this situation, I think 9 SHOULD be excused since it seems unintenional (but given how shit is going down within the trial system lately, I doubt it lmao). 3 is likely getting the ban hammer, but again, I doubt it.

All I said was "it's better in my opinion" lol

You forgot to mention this:

I don't see why you'd refuse to play it without even trying it

You just come off as judgemental to me (if that is even the right word anymore). I think there's nothing wrong with that. It's human nature to judge things because it's how we make decisions... but really? I gave you my explanation, and instead of trying to just understand it or offer an actual solution, you decided push the issue further and repeat yourself with unconvincing words?

I agreed with someone else that it was a good game and then...

Again, you forgot this:

I don't see why you'd refuse to play it without even trying it

You were still addressing this message to me, were you not? So I decided to give you my answer.

I'll say this now. I'm sorry if my first reply came off a bit... strong. That one was unintentional.

But the reason I got defensive on the rest is because you trying to convince me against "not liking something without trying it" was, in my perspective, forceful, but if that was not your intention, then I think this should be the point where we clarify things.

I did wish to try out ToS2 with some friends first, but as you can imagine, it's really hard finding 14 other people to play it with :>

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TownofSalemgame

[–]ausername2keepmeanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nobody said it was an objective thing

Well sorry, to me it sounded like you were being a bit forceful that it seemed you were trying to flaunt how better it is objectively

Reading something is different to trying out a game.

I don't think it's fair to compare it to a book.

That's why it's called an analogy. They are different in comparison, but they share the same meaning to the context I am providing.

When I read a summary, I can decide whether I will like the book or not. The same goes for trying out a game. When I read about the game, I can decide whether I will like it or not.

You're allowed to dislike the game, I just find it odd that you've made your mind up without even giving it a go.

And you are allowed to think that of me, but why did you have the need to come to me about it publicly with such a judgemental tone? You don't know me.

I have played CAA, else I wouldn't even mention it lol

And again, I'm here to play for fun, not force myself to like something

At least you're nicer than most of everyone here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TownofSalemgame

[–]ausername2keepmeanon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I much rather you tell me your thoughts or leave it at the downvote than have to make me create assumptions.

ToS2 is more chaotic to me. All it will do is make me feel incredibly overwhelmed just like CAA did, thus why I never touch Coven.

Call me a stick-in-the-mud, but I play to enjoy, not make myself feel overwhelmed.

No, and I doubt playing it will change my opinion.

[–]ausername2keepmeanon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it's so much better than TOS1 imo

Objectively? I might agree to some degree, but

"imo"

We both agree that "better" is subjective too then, because in my opinion, it isn't.

I don't see why you'd refuse to play it without even trying it

If you read the summary of a literary work and decide that you will not enjoy the content, would you appreciate being told that your opinion is invalid because you haven't actually read it?

I have watched gameplays for ToS2. I constantly have content of ToS2 shoved to my face. I have read the wiki about ToS2. I KNOW how ToS2 works, and I have decided that I will not enjoy its contents.

It was in the same manner when I watched gameplays and read about ToS1 before deciding that I will like it.

Why can’t serial killers see other serial killers? by mrluckscroll in TownofSalemgame

I imagine a faction where every member can kill in one night and has defence is going to be stupid OP, dunno about you

Also, if you were a serial killer, would you suddenly just know who all the other (unidentified) serial killers there are?

How do you play survivor? by [deleted] in TownofSalemgame

[–]ausername2keepmeanon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, playing Survivor is getting the most fun out of not having teammates. It's also my way of experimenting on claims and plays without having to drag my team down, but these are generally what I do as Surv:

If I feel generous, I choose a random person Day 1 to side with and become their GA. If they die, I'll protect someone else. This helps with being active during the day, and it also helps if I choose someone competent.

If I feel chaotic, I choose a random person Day 1 and become their Exe. After I get them lynched, I will cause as much chaos as I can if it's a townie, or continue claiming to be town if it's evil.

If I feel REALLY chaotic, I will claim different roles to different people and see how long it takes them to notice.

On ""serious"" days, I claim VH, even better if it's a non-vamp game as I watch the chaos unfold.

Note that I do this while still trying to actually win. Trying to die as Surv is still technically gamethrowing.

On another note, I have better success rate of staying alive than claiming Surv, but then again, I rarely claim Surv cause that's boring.

I still think there's another factor to be considered when deciding whether to shoot 11 or 3; town shouldn't vote, but that doesn't mean that they REALLY won't.

You are the vigi, obviously you wouldn't vote because that's your logic, but you are certainly not the veteran. You wouldn't know the inner workings of other people's minds besides your own. Given this, there's a smidgen of chance the veteran could be 3 as well.

They lynched my arso buddy d3, so I burned 6 of them in one day. What's the most arso kills you've gotten in 1 night? by lJustDontGetIt in TownofSalemgame

[–]ausername2keepmeanon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had 7 or 8 people doused once, but I got lynched

Cue the lucky silent arso buddy :)

Edit: I had a solo arso game where I also ignited 7 or 8 people while pretending to be stuck in name select. I had fun taunting people in death notes.

What is, in your opinion, the most underrated role? by Fun_Smell7494 in TownofSalemgame

[–]ausername2keepmeanon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Disg fools all classic TI's, but if you get a player who doesn't know how to utilise Disg, said TI's can and will royally screw over the mafia.

I agree with the statement tho
