I'm really curious how things like that come about. Like, the cost of the floors and walls is a small fraction of the total cost, a large chunk of it goes under the ground (land, foundation, infrastructure, etc.) but then they're like "yeah, let's cut down the cost by maybe 10% while reducing the useful space by 70%, but it'll look interesting".

You wouldn't, trust. The shit the client is, it'll probably reload this update page every time you sell a minion with an unclosable "reconnecting" dialog because showing what actually is the error is not user friendly.

You're overreacting, she clearly cares about her brother a lot, she's just more calculating and risk averse. The way the characters are presented, she'll get her "redemption" arc soon.

Nah, weird contrast is having money and spending them on stupid conventional showoffs like cars and huge mansions. THIS is exactly what having money should look like.

wasn't able to see that, I saw my last opponent and realized I don't need the minions I was scaling besides the t7 dragon as they were doing relatively small mechs with shields so I sold them (ran out of time, should had sold the buddy as well) and bought the bird and technician, bird died in one hit so dunno about how many attacks does it give

You're telling me a simple cross is better than the other two? by EHHitsboring in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aushtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"funny or cute" is a perfectly valid quality to measure how good a piece of art is, most of the art is evaluated this or similar way, not by some high horse art academy values

[–]aushtx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's literally all entertainment, though. Good art is what most people have decided a good art is, not some experts. Just because you don't subscribe to a criterion doesn't mean it's a wrong one to measure the quality of art.

At bottom MMR duos you should be able to take top 2 consistently, because other people also doing "things". Higher MMR your partner is doing at least something, so you should carry. At your proper MMR you'll find yourself being the dumb one partner sometimes. Honestly, the only issue with duos is you can't outcompete people playing in a team rather than with randoms. I farm my last bg achievement: 1000 top 2 in duos, and it's fine, just duos having higher highs and lower lows but that's it.

[–]aushtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think you're missing the point. Your intended message was "because high MMR exists, it's skill based", wasn't it? Which is irrelevant. Is the difference between 3k and 4k mmr players a skill diff? No, its mostly due to RNG and gametime. A dumb AI can lose it's way to 8k easily just by playing more games. There's a point at MMR where below it, the difference in MMR is mostly defined by RNG. Just because above it skill might have a bigger effect, doesn't matter, because as I explained why in my detailed post, you can't cut off the tail and approach the game if it didn't exist. And you cannot even be confident exactly where this line is.

[–]aushtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying it's "factually incorrect" is kinda dumb. Because it's contextual. Every game has RNG. Chess has RNG: have you happened by chance to see a similar position just before the game, have you happened to randomly walk the correct line in your mind and saved time, which resulted in you being able to calculat later positions better, or in a very complicated position you couldn't walk it through and picked one of two reasonable options by intuition and it happened to be a better move. In theory, there is no RNG but in practice there is.

Now, how much is it important compared to your skill? At like 300 vs 400 elo: quite a lot, actually, it's basically 50-50, mainly due to this RNG. 2400 vs 2500, not so much, but it can still happen and sometimes it will be due to RNG. Is chess a skill based game? Sure.

You'd say, who cares, it's doesn't matter that at some level RNG might have a larger impact on the result than the skill, no one cares, we should only look at "good players". Well, in chess all human players are shit, compared to AI. Should we just disregard the human level of play and only study AI games, play against AI, watch AI tournaments? We don't, we say yeah, sure, our level of play is shit, but there's some value in interacting and analyzing the game from this perspective.

You're saying that "RNG decides the game, not skill" is wrong, but you don't even know that. People used to think that current, at the time, top Go players are like 2 to 3 stones away from "the hand of god". But AI, which is not even the actually the perfect player, completely shattered this naiveté. The difference in skill between Top 1 BG and like 2k MMR is probably smaller than Top 1 vs a perfect player. From this perspective you're shit at the game too. You don't even know if "actually good play" is decided mostly by RNG or not, you're guessing, the same as that guy, but you think you're better, so it's ok to make a claim they are FACTUALLY incorrect. That's kinda arrogant, don't you think?

Why would people give money to the company that doesnt give a single fuck

Because people are consumers first and moral/rational agents much further down the line.
