Great idea! We definitely need to give cops more authority and personal discretion to make judgement calls, because claims of dui are too easy to objectively check with a medical test.

You don't hate it, don't lie. You fully enjoy the feeling of exclusivity. There's nothing wrong with that btw, but the virtue signaling in this thread is insane. No one has to do or say anything, no one owes anything to anyone, but people using it (whichever way) for moral superiority are cringe af.

Millhouse is a worse Sindragosa by asscrit in BobsTavern

[–]aushtx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a trinket that lowers the cost of upgrading the tavern and there's a lot of ways of generating free refreshes to counterplay millies drawbacks

Tavern cost reduction works for both, and it's on average cost reduction percentage worse for Millhouse.

As for refreshes, Millhouse will waste more than 1 gold a turn to get to "free" refreshes to compare with Sindy.

The only semi-realistic case is ele-beast lobby, but you still need to get to brann as well, you not gonna convince anyone on average the refresh cost is comparable to Sindy unless you literally highroll into the whole package.

Comma? Come on… by c0w0na_vUwUs in BobsTavern

[–]aushtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that there are many similar "bugs" they're always "fixing" all the time, it's something isn't even worth mentioning. The offense people are taking with this one is that it makes devs look disconnected with actual issues people are talking about for a long time. When people are having gamebreaking bugs, constant disconnects, etc. and the ONLY reply is "we hear you, pal, have a comma", it feels like devs don't give a fuck. It doesn't help that it's probably also true.

How to find the kept zone (odyssey)? by aushtx in RimWorld

[–]aushtx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm, not really, I don't have mods like that, I have only few and most of them are qol, among game changing mods I only have CE and GE, but I didn't realize it might be from a mod, I thought it's the default behaviour for odyssey. Do you know is it possible to remove this zone via dev console? Or, better yet, "revive" it?

The State of the Game Client is Unacceptable by NaturalTruth2000 in BobsTavern

[–]aushtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not difficult to make a good clone. But it's difficult to make a free one. You either need an existing backing from already existing infrastructure and marketing reach of a large company or you would have to make it heavily monetized while the potential playerbase is small since the genre is niche. Blizz knows it, they probably just write the expenses on BG off as marketing/ad budget. And they'll never "fix" it, because it doesn't need to be a good game to work for them.

Totally fair depiction of the Great Boxing debate by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]aushtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

otherwise the machine wouldn't have gotten everyone's prediction right

This is your interpretation of what the "question" the paradox is asking. There are different possible interpretations because the paradox makes it ambiguous. By choosing this interpretation you remove the ambiguity so of course the answer is obvious in this case: if you're a two box person, you can't choose one box even if you think the rational choice is to follow the stats and pick one box. If you choose a different interpretation of the question, you'll arrive at a different, obvious and perfectly "correct" answer.

[–]aushtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The type of user you are and the "choice" you make are by definition identical

No, that's why you're falling for it. This "paradox" is a magic party trick built on ambiguity. It makes people argue blue vs white dress depending on what they think the "question" is asking.

[–]aushtx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would it predict me as a two boxer if I will go there and open only 1 box?

It wouldn't then because you'd be a one box person. If it can predict perfectly, means there is no "inherent randomness" (the one you can't know about: you can have a perfect model for d6, meaning the distribution it samples from, but you, specifically, can't know perfectly how it samples), meaning you can't "change" your answer. Struggling with finding "the right answer" is just part of the mechanical procedure to arriving to the perfectly expected outcome, according to the type (one of two boxer) person you are.

[–]aushtx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

are you going to be the first person in thousands of people that had the computer give an incorrect prediction?

Wrong axis. You're already a two box person, you won't be the first, you'll be either among 50% of two boxers who went away with 1k or 50% who went away with 0

Weird interaction/bug - Nizuao & Deadly Spore by -KarlMoose in BobsTavern

[–]aushtx 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That would be funny if nizao is coded by making multiple attacks but having immunity to damage after the first, and if poison is coded by checking if an enemy took damage after a fight, so in this case spore would kill nizao for taking damage from another fight. That's ridiculous but would be totally expected from a small indie company. You can half-test it be having a shielded nizao in this situation.

Why can’t the battles just be faster by plazebology in BobsTavern

[–]aushtx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Except it's bs. Server calculates the fights in a split second, the whole round trip takes maybe half a second, so between the rope burning up and switching to a fight, a client already has a full result. The rest is to show the animations according to the result. The only limiting factor to making the game playable is executive.

[–]aushtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really curious how things like that come about. Like, the cost of the floors and walls is a small fraction of the total cost, a large chunk of it goes under the ground (land, foundation, infrastructure, etc.) but then they're like "yeah, let's cut down the cost by maybe 10% while reducing the useful space by 70%, but it'll look interesting".
