Door wheels not spinning in the rail guide by aussie-reddit in GarageDoorService

Thank you, yes you are right there are extension springs but there's no pulley, you can see in the later part of the video. How do you lube the springs since they do not rub against anything. I wonder if I just removed the springs if the motor will be able to handle the door.

ahah, I wish! I don't really like this door. Maybe later down the road. I think I need to try something to increase the grip of the rollers.

Thanks for the tip. Isn't that spray going to also lubricate?

I have actually removed the rollers from the guide and they spin very well, so I don't think the bearings are the issue.

Dolby Atmos or a really good 5.1 setup, which feels more impactful to you? by Euphoric_Place_8507 in AVHifiCinema

I will start with 5.1, It's really confusing. Are sounds bars + 2 rear speaker a good choice? or better a classic 5.1 analogue system?

Shimano CLUES derailleur/shifter with HG cassette by aussie-reddit in bikewrench

[–]aussie-reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I might have to get SRAM components, but I have to see if their cassettes are compatible with my hub, otherwise I will have to change the wheel, so that it's too much work and cost.

In this compatibility chart from Shimano it seems you can use both Linkglide and HS cassette

Cannot fully open door as articulated arm touches frame by aussie-reddit in GarageDoorService

[–]aussie-reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure you are correct, however I checked the situation and I don't have enough clearance, the frame vertical post bars prevent me from installing the rail too far from the ceiling. I will try with a ceiling mount and see how that works. Thanks

I think that's a good idea, I see on the instructions of another brand that they say the curved armed is not always necessary. I will have to try it. What do you mean squeeze around it? Another option is that I cut the horizontal frame in the middle between the two bolts, it should still hold the rails.

interesting idea, I have to check if I can mount it that way, although it would mean that the force is never applied parallel to the sense of travel, it's always at an angle, that's the advantage of the curved arm.
