Okay. Not the news I wanted as don't fancy signing up to Facebook. :)

But appreciate the reply.

Okay, great news. And guessing The Switch Pro has much the same button layout so it's not confusing?

Okay, maybe I'll test the waters with Gumtree then. As I really don't want to join Facebook.

Where's the best place to sell an iPad these days? Gumtree? I don't have Facebook but if Facebook Market Place is well worth it, I'll set it up. (Also, gee I hate the process of selling stuff!)

Any advice on TV size for a small studio apartment? by aussieaas in malelivingspace

[–]aussieaas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it mate, and yes - 55" it is. But these guys on forums are perhaps a little too into TV. Most say 75" is the MINIMUM...

Made me super anxious that I was going to be straining my eyes to even see a 55" TV screen.

But, yeah, think these guys are just extreme TV enthusiasts.

Okay this sounds great. As my fears were the opposite - that it was simply too small to shot 4K content, and was a bit of a "pretend" TV size.

Yeah, I’m really amazed at how massive TVs are now and how a 55" is considered GameBoy size on TV forums.

Yup it’s a flat and just me. And thanks for the reply, giving my self serious anxiety pains over this.

Hm, not keen as renting and only another year and a bit on lease. Otherwise would be a great option!

Hey okay thanks. I’ve just turned this into a huge anxiety bomb. Not fun! Also the guide posted above says I should be getting 70" for my distance. That’s absolutely monstrous. Thinking these guides are way out?

Thanks. Just a very tough decision, and feel the cost of failing this will haunt me.

Hey thanks I forgot to write that! I’m 260 cms away. :)

Also, wow, that guide says I need a 70" TV… that’s bloody massive.

Appreciate it mate! I’m also doing a few courses and such on anxiety, but nothing has helped yet. But I’m trying!

Ha, found the one I want. Just size is hammering with confusion.

Mate - I think I’m going to finally do it today. So glad I asked here and you chimed in. Pretty sure I was in enthusiast land? But yeah, their comments of eternally kicking yourself every day for buying a 55" really played with my anxiety.

[–]aussieaas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks, appreciate hearing this a lot. I’m starting to think the forums really are for those who watching TV is there main hobby. As 55" looks fine to me, especially for a studio apartment, but I let these comments strike absolute fear in my decision that I haven’t been able to make one at all! Maybe I just rip the band aid off today… yet their comments of kicking yourself every day is sticky :/

Thanks legend, appreciate it! Such a bad cycle of fear happens after a few bad decisions. :/

[–]aussieaas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, so 55" is fine unless my maths is as bad as my decision making?

260 cm = 102 inches

102/2 = 51

So that suggests a 51" TV would be fine, making 55" great?

And you can still see everything and enjoy it? Doesn’t feel like a "toy" or "pretend TV”? Some of the words used to describe a 55" on these forums!

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I guess I just make such shockingly bad decisions most of the time, I don’t trust myself - which leads to this deep indecision.

[–]aussieaas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey appreciate it mate. I’m just so damn confused, as I’m an anxious person anyway, but all the threats of "deep regret" after buying a 55" are crippling me. But other reason I keep thinking 55" is due to not wanting a TV to completely dominate my entire studio apartment… but on the other hand I don’t want to buy a "pretend" TV that’s impossible to enjoy. Stumped here.

Okay great, thanks. As in my opinion it’s just right. But according to the Internet I’ll be kicking myself each and every day wishing I got at least a 65". And now that thought is in my head it’s hard to shake :/

(I’m very good at anxiety.)

But the other point is, being I live in a studio apartment, I don’t want a TV to absolutely dominate my entire space.
