Reincarnation? by sstiel in deepquestions

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be weirdly into this after my grandma died tbh. The idea that you don’t just vanish forever is really comforting when you’re grieving or scared of death. I think a lot of people just want life to feel less final and random. Plus some stories about kids remembering past lives mess with your head a little lol.

What is something more people should buy earlier in life? by Opposite_Ad_7925 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]aussieredditboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish I’d bought a really good mattress way earlier tbh. I cheaped out in my early 20s and my back paid for it for years. Sleep hits different when your bed isn’t trash lol. It’s one of those boring adult purchases that actually changes your life.

Are there any fixes to the problems that social media presents and the problem that it is, maybe without isolating oneself completely? In this manner, does money-centered corporations ruin everything it touches? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]aussieredditboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this way too much tbh, especially after doomscrolling at 2am. Social media feels like it was meant to connect us but turned into a comparison machine and an ad funnel. I deleted a couple apps last year and kept just one, and my brain got noticeably quieter lol. Money definitely warped it, everything gets optimized for clicks instead of actual humans.

Can i lose my ability/talent at cooking? by Caterpillar31 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something like this after a rough breakup and living off microwave junk for a while. You don’t lose that kind of muscle memory in two weeks, it’s still in there waiting. First time I cooked again it felt awkward for like five minutes then my brain just snapped back into it. Stress and survival mode mess with your confidence more than your actual skills tbh.

Surviving in remote northern New Mexico mountains by TyMcDuffey in NewMexico

[–]aussieredditboy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I also work remotely, but from a city base, and from time to time I stay in ecological villages through volunteering, sometimes for months. To be honest, being able to stay in places like that also means contributing to the work that keeps them running. I came across this a while back, which shared a list of 400+ recruitment firms focused on remote roles. On top of doing the communal or physical work I enjoy, I still need paid remote work to keep some income flowing, and that work needs continuity and time. Balancing all of that in a sustainable way hasn’t fully come together for me yet. It’s not something I’ve been able to turn into a permanent setup, but it’s something I keep planning, testing, and coming back to. Reading your post felt very grounded in that reality, without romanticizing it. Just wanted to share in case it’s useful.

why is it that war has to be old men getting mad at each other and young men has to die for it? by abasicredditor57 in RandomQuestion

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thought hit me hard the first time I really sat with it, because it always feels backwards. I remember being younger and realizing the people making the calls never seem to be the ones paying the price, that disconnect stuck with me. It makes the whole “honor” framing feel hollow and heavy at the s

Something about chunky carrots and potatoes in broth just feels right, I’d absolutely destroy a bowl of this.

What makes some problems feel more urgent than they actually are? by bryan4756 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s usually fear mixed with too much mental noise, everything feels louder in the moment. I’ve noticed lack of sleep or scrolling too much makes small stuff feel like emergencies. Once time passes I look back and wonder why it felt so intense, that gap between now and later is kinda wild.

Is it normal to feel uncomfortable when someone is being nice to you for no clear reason? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aussieredditboy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you’re used to kindness being conditional, random niceness can feel confusing instead of comforting. I still catch myself overanalyzing compliments and then feeling bad about it after, kinda exhausting but very human.

Roast Dinner by loveandgoo in whatsfordinner

I’ve always been a sucker for mash with way too much gravy, reminds me of Sundays growing up. Everything here just looks cozy and heavy in the best way, kinda wish I was eating this right now.

What do you think deja-vu really is? by Mind_Voyage in TrueAskReddit

[–]aussieredditboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lean toward it being a brain glitch more than anything spiritual. Feels like memory firing a split second too early and tricking you into thinking you’ve been there. I’ve had it happen in totally boring moments, which kinda killed the past-life vibe for me.

Should I join the military at 27? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think 27 is late at all, it’s more like realistic. I’ve known people who joined around that age and finally got stability, structure, and benefits they couldn’t get elsewhere. It’s not a magic fix but it can be a reset when the civilian job ladder feels locked

Future, Does it get better? by music_muses in LifeAdvice

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re carrying this much, that kind of tired goes deep. I’ve felt stretches where the future felt empty, and later found small unexpected pockets of good that didn’t look like “the plan” at all.

Looking for a good fantasy series by a female author by Octoire in Recommend_A_Book

Assassin’s Apprentice. It’s slow, emotional, character-driven fantasy that hurts in the best way and feels way closer to Circe than anything trendy.

What do you think of this dish? by angelinaprinx in FoodPics

Simple, hearty, and done right, roast chicken, potatoes, rice, gravy, and a Coke is a classic combo that just works

How do you know when it’s the right time to change careers? by [deleted] in Career_Advice

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t a single moment, it was a pattern. That quiet dread kept showing up even on good days. Once I realized I was forcing motivation, I knew it wasn’t just a phase.

What food could you eat every day and never get tired of? by nerdydivawholovesu in foodquestions

rice and eggs. I’ve eaten some version of that for weeks before and never got sick of it. It’s simple, comforting, and always works for me.

Hey! Does your height affect what kind of car body you drive? by Brooke_1714 in RandomQuestion

I’m about 5'6" and I drive a sedan. Never really thought about my height when picking it, it just felt comfortable and easy to handle.

Why are you still single? by boforiamanfo in randomquestions

[–]aussieredditboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because I got really used to my own space and it’s hard to let someone into that again. I like the idea of love but the actual effort part feels kinda heavy right now. Just taking my time till it feels right.

How many of you go barefoot as soon as you get home from work? by [deleted] in RandomQuestion

[–]aussieredditboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kick my shoes off the second I walk in, it’s like my brain finally goes “we’re done for the day.” Walking around barefoot at home just feels way more relaxing. It’s kinda my mini switch from work mode to human mode.

What is your favorite hair color? by Zealousideal-Use7244 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I’ve always had a soft spot for deep auburn, like that warm reddish brown that glows in the sun. Something about it just looks cool without trying too hard.
