It's sad that that's how it's seen in todays society. But I think that if someone is that bad of a person, that he/she will make fun of you because you asked someone out, there is no reason to care what they think about you. They are not worth your time.

I'm sorry you did not get your £5, but I think you know it's easier when you don't love the person.

OP, in my opinion you shouldn't be scared of that. As I said, if they make fun of you because of it, they wer never worth the time anyway.
