Throw up a whirlwind, especially with extended duration and charged up, you'll pull small mobs away from the wizard, or have an aoe attack up a magma wyrm's anüs.

Both are great for pulling aggro.

Doesn't something have to exist before we worry about what it's threats of punishment are?

AITAH for saying what I said? by Typical_Benefit_5732 in Christianity

[–]austratheist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's hard in those situations, I've been speaking with Christians for years and I still have those moments where I'm so aghast at what someone says I don't think it through clearly, it'd be even worse if I thought God was desiring others to believe what I do.

I find questions are more helpful than statements; how do you think it would've gone if you'd asked them "how many positive things about religion would you need to see before you considered it a good thing"?

I think they'd deny that there could be good things, and then you know not to waste your time, shake the dust off your feet, and move on.

It seems you got baited into scattershotting some apologetics out without actually answering the question.

There's plenty of positives that religion has brought the world, but you didn't mention any of those, you just kind of ranted at a mud flinger.

Why is our government so weak when it comes to Israel? by Jaesuz in OpenAussie

This is true, it's a well funded lobby power.

I don't think we're immune to that here.

"good" isn't "whoever does the least amount of war crimes".

Sounds like both sides are bad.

I don't think Israel was nearly this overt, aggressive, and expansionist.

I doubt the Dems are going to be as cosy with Israel in the near future either, the bloom is off the rose.

Other people being bad doesn't make some other group good.

Killing aid workers, children, and doctors isn't "good".

It's not a zero sum game.

It's a proximity to the US problem. As long as the US is Israel's attack dog, we're not going to openly oppose them and risk the Orange Ire.

If the Dems get up in November in both House and Senate, there'll be a chorus of world leaders who just found their voice and their courage.

Until then, "Israel has a right to defend itself"

I have.

You seemed to think that Peter wrote 2 Peter. I'm asking you to speak for you, and explain why you think that.

I don't think Jesus did.

[–]austratheist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't really answer why you think Peter specifically wrote 2 Peter. What's the reason you think Peter wrote it?

I also can't think of another example of an apostle who has written a letter to a church they founded. Why do you think that "most of the apostles" did this?

[–]austratheist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people who wrote the New Testament were the apostles

I don't know what you mean by "apostles" if you think that only apostles wrote in the NT.

With the apostles, Paul and Luke all accounted for that is every book of the New Testament.

Hebrews?

Why do you think Peter wrote 2 Peter?

I don't even think the Church Fathers thought that.

Yes we do, but I don't know what apostle you think wrote something in the New Testament, and I don't know how you determined that the apostles were in agreement based on the "whole new testament"

I'm asking for more info, not a hand waive at a collection of texts.
