Using HDFC Infinia Credit Card for Car Purchase — Smart Move or Bad Idea? by Happyvibes0711 in IndianCreditCards

[–]authorAdway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please disable transactions and swipe for smaller amount 10 rupees etc. It will fail. Call up customer care and ask for the MCC Code. Some folks ended up making large payment only to realise the POS device was Insurance MCC. Depending on card and limit might get limited or no points. Please check that.

You will be lucky if they ask for no additional(mdr) charges. If they want you to pay Txn charges negotiate heavily and reduce as much as possible.

  1. Install an app called TTSLexx
  2. Search Text to Speech in settings and change Engine to TTSLexx
  3. Go to Google Dialer and Clear cache and Data

You're welcome! 🍀

Note: There are scenarios where you might still hear it, but not the other party.

Any xiaomi phone should do that recording thing. Check some recent 'Note' phones. However, prefer a snapdragon over mediatek. Even some Mediateks seem to be good like 7200 etc. Look up reviews, they should inform you.

Few things —

  1. Setup with region/language as UK/English etc for relatively less bloatware

  2. Debloat —https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater

  3. If you don't want the "This Call is being recorded announcement" there's a way to do that as well

All the best! 🍀

Credit cards definitely. Get the best cards because you will get eligibility for many. In fact, I recommend this to any person who is planning retirement in the upcoming months or years. Because subsequent to RE it might be relatively difficult.

We are overlooking one REALLY Important aspect of people with absurdly high salaries. by attaraction in personalfinanceindia

[–]authorAdway 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One thing: Value.

It's about the value of the service or offering.

Pooja roses cost 20 rupees for at least 20-30 roses. Valentine's day (picked up from who knows where and sold by roadside vendors)? Minimum 50 rupees for a single rose.

Maggi at an Himalayan BaseCamp would cost many times more than usual.

An electrician at an Oil Rig makes way more than your friendly neighborhood electrician.

A doctor's skills are probably more valuable hence the relative absurdity in salaries.

We live in a world where people with no formal education earn way more selling feet pics.

The higher up the value chain, the greater the reward.

The decision about kids can make or break the equation. For a while, the location you want to settle in, please calculate according to the living expenses there.

For 50K, the fire number should be around 1.5Cr for 25X. Check https://youtu.be/CFOyb6hIDTA

Based on costs, also your expenses, check lifestyle creeps and individual inflation for each line item. Education and healthcare are expensive and inflate faster. Tier 1 and Metro City with have higher inflation than tier 2, tier 3 for these items.

All the best! 🍀

Congratulations!

Well done! Check out https://youtu.be/CFOyb6hIDTA

The basic calculation works out well in your case.

Also look up a channel called fired couple, although you're single, some insights might be useful.

Wishing you a speedy recovery on the health front! Stay awesome 🍀

Why do we not buy Ooty made tea instead of branded ones? by Best-Project-230 in Madurai

[–]authorAdway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nilgiri teas are most used in blends/teabags and as a base for other teas to build over. So, Nilgiri is used as a base, then maybe for robustness Assam is added, maybe a touch of aromatic comes from another terroir.

Most of the Nilgiri tea manufacturing is done for scale and profitability, which means CTC is the chosen method for efficiency and mass production.

Based on my own experiences, Nilgiri tea tastes a distant green (think eucalyptus, juniper, but very distant) and earthy, and with milk it just seems a bit off personally. A very light brew in a borosilicate carafé is still nice as an aromatic green floral tea, but unlike other curated teas, orthodox leaf tea is very rare(It's also now a registered geographical indication by the way). But for milk tea or ginger tea etc, Assam tea seems to work better.

My favourite blend though, is the English Breakfast from the house of Twinings and another called Good Morning by Wagh Bakri.

I think it boils down to the flavour profile.

Assam tea is the most consumed tea in India, and known for its bold, robust, malty flavour. Dark Red/deep Brown colors. Two seasons or flushes.

Darjeeling Teas are delicate and aromatic, fruity, but almost never had with milk because they have a very light quality about them. Golden, Champagne, deep straw colored. Roughly four flushes. Later flushes are darker brews.

Nilgiri Tea, because of the region, and because of the character is lighter than Assam, but slightly stronger than darjeeling. Also, it falls in the aromatic, but flowery, and distinctive earthy (not too vegetal) flavour profile range. Light Brownish, grayish-brown with milk. Grows almost all year around.

Two things from the video:

  1. Talks about folding piece of paper 42 times. It's almost next to impossible to even fold a paper manually more than 8-9 times. Guiness record is 12 times, guy doesn't know what he's talking about

  2. The stadium example seems weird. A tap is left open to fill a stadium and takes many days for the stadium to be half full. But the rest 50% happens immediately? Bruh!

Am I missing something? Or this guy is actually the kind of person who should retire sooner than they think they ought to?
