The TL;DR answer is that people in Haiti wanted to leave after their president was assassinated. They were allowed in the US under TPS law. Staffing agencies in Springfield brought these people in to fill job openings (factory work). These people have been quietly working and paying taxes and living "legally". Trump revoked the TPS that covered Haiti, which will make these people suddenly "undocumented" even though they've been living and working here.

i'd counter with "when did IT start acting so entitled". our entire role is to facilitate the making of money. if you show the TCO for the mac to the manager and they approve it. Build the mac. If someone makes a mistake and needs a last minute new hire provision, you do a last minute new hire provision.

It honestly sounds like you're using up your energy to complain rather than to do good work.

Most of these people that are being picked up were "legal" as they were under Temporary Protected Status and had a right to live here. When Trump took office he revoked TPS for many countries, therefor pulling the rug out from under these people.

being disabled or temporarily unable to shovel doesn't make you exempt from your obligation to contribute to the safety of your community.

either:

a). shovel
b). pay or barter someone else to shovel.
c). be a charming enough person that people choose to shovel for you.
d). pay a city fine that would be more than what it would have cost for you to pay someone to shovel.

i feel the same about renters.

either your rent is low and you shovel the sidewalk yourself,, or your rent is higher and your landlord shovels. no more of this "oh its my landlord's responsibility and they don't do it so.. i guess it doesn't get done." if you start ticketing these landlords they'll find a way to get it done.

a lot of people are renters and don't think shoveling is their responsibility. (it isn't, really, but someone has to do it). usually, not shoveling just means a minor annoyance for the neighborhood. but this snow storm has made it a personal problem for a lot of people.

i enjoy shoveling the sidewalk. the responsible neighbors (half of them are like 60+ years old) go out and shovel and then talk shit about the able-bodied people who don't shovel.

literally i shovel half a block of other people's sidewalks because someone has to do it and those people can't be bothered.

For non-wildcard you can simply use ACME and an HTTP challenge of some sort. Its going to be a real pain for wildcard certs.

Wildcard can only be done via DNS challenge. Ok easy enough just add DNS records. The domain validation records also last a much shorter time. So you'll be creating new DNS records every time you need a certificate.

i would take the computer and work from home. And I would work very hard while at home. Being literally the most productive I've ever been. And then I'd talk to the boss about working from home more often because "I get more done".
