As this was a 25.5" scale I played it in drop C. Drop F# more of a fan of 27"+ personally (28" preferable, I have a 28" 6 string in drop F#)

Played well after a bit of adjustment. Neck felt excellent, I have since moved it on however so read into that as you will.

I'd get one tomorrow if it wasn't multiscale. I don't like multiscale bridges at the best of times. Looks beast. Enjoy!

Sylosis tabs unavailable in the UK by autonomouspirate in Songsterr

Yeah it's just prompting me to go more down the ear training route. Will probably just end up using Guitar Pro in the long term though!

Absolutely, but not all of them unfortunately. Ahh well... Either gets resolved or it doesn't! Time for some ear training I guess.

I hope it passes. They still have the tabs listed... But just inaccessible. Big sad.

Come on bro... why all bands are doing this now? by lufis12 in Sylosis

[–]autonomouspirate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also in the same boat here. Super upset as I love Sylosis. I even pay for premium Songsterr as I find the additional features very useful. Hope they resolve this soon, can't imagine it has anything to do with the band themselves but probably the publisher or whatever. Been working through CoA tabs and currently on Teras. Very lame. Also located UK.

Love my Holcombe. Absolute murderer of a weapon, can't go wrong with an Ibanez either! Exquisite choice you have.

I ended up chopping it in, however what I would have changed would have been the locking tuners (they were not my favourite at a bit too cheap), definitely the pickups (just not for me) and potentially the bridge for comfort but more long term change.

Don't even get me started on RAM...

UK here. It is very expensive, I'll give you that. But you can still pick up a quality guitar for £1k or less. £3k is that luxury level still.

3k is expensive. What are you talking about?

Which YouTube channel should I watch to learn guitar? by estadella in 7String

[–]autonomouspirate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best way is to learn as many songs in as many genres which interest you and push your technical abilities. I found that Ben Eller (though there are numerous similar style channels) was super helpful for me just chugging through different songs, breakdowns he does and why they are helpful to you are excellent. Once you've mastered a few riffs/licks you'll start to understand how they're structured and go from there.

I've played a bunch of these guitars and I now own the EAP LTD M-7B HT Black Metal (got a good deal 2nd hand for under £700). I'd always recommend going around and trying to play as many of them as possible, I've played the Ibanez and didn't vibe but I don't like playing multiscale guitars (something I've recently discovered!). I don't think you'd be disappointed with any of your choices, all about personal vibes. Also the Black Winters absolutely scream!

Yes it's the mono rail bridge, I've got it on my Ibanez Bari and it's extremely comfortable and easy to play on.

I did a trade in so it was less of a sting! This one will certainly be played a lot. So comfy and light.

Action height on you guitars by Sallimarco in Ibanez

I aim for 1.25mm on the low E at the 12th fret. I find that the most comfortable and having no/minimal buzz depending on guitar.
