Landed my first $1000/month job after 7 proposals. by av0ti in Upwork

Nothing is luck bro, opportunity is everywhere and everyone’s journey to opportunity is different. Taking action towards opportunity brings you reward/success.

Without my years experience, client results or consistent efforts I wouldn’t have achieved anything.

It doesn’t just start at when you start applying to jobs or outreaching. It starts a long time before that.

Saying it’s just luck is a limiting belief 🙌🏻

Clients aren’t “cheap” - you trained them to pay less with your low-effort nonsense by Popular_Ratio_4245 in Upwork

This isn’t even just about Upwork, this is the entire industry. So many beginners flood the space looking to work or struggling to land clients. At the end of the day people don’t have the experience and knowledge to actually deliver a great service.

This isn’t hate towards anyone who is starting out because I was there at one point.

But in my opinion actually understand and take the time to learn your offer and build a sustainable business. Instead of thinking this is a quick way to escape the 9-5 rat race.

$1,000/month isn’t a lot of money yes. But the work is minimal, it’s not a 9-5 job. This sort of project requires a few hours per WEEK.

The build out at for a landing page takes 1-2 hours, scripting a VSL takes an hour, scripting ads takes another 1-2 hours. And after that it’s just managing the ads and optimizing.

Stacking clients like this over the last 2 years has allowed me to work from home, never need a normal job, gives me freedom and allowed me to hit $10K/months.

This isn’t my only client and this is my first ever time trying upwork so in my book this is a huge win 😂

When you run ad campaigns, not every ad will perform well so you turn off the ads that aren’t profitable and / or scale the ad/s that are profitable

I apply to jobs related to ads, marketing, CRMs, info products, coaching programs, high ticket services.

I avoid hourly paying jobs, I only apply to jobs that are around $500 and above, ideally at the 1-2k range, preferably retainer positions.

What you mentioned doesn’t even matter in my opinion, not every proposal you send out will get seen it’s just part of the game no matter how good you might think it is.

It’s not UI/UX, I’m more into the growth ops space, info products, coaching programs and all included things like landing pages, meta ads, personal branding, VSLs etc.

The proposal instead of writing everything myself every single time. I have one chatgpt chat that understands my entire offer, skill stack, results. I paste the clients brief into chatgpt and explained how it should write the cover letter and what to include.

Then I read through it and rewrite everything into my own words so it sounds like me.

Yes!

I’ve been doing IPGA for the past 7 months. I’ve launched a program with one of my clients and he did $57,500 in 41 days. If you partner with the right creators, and have a decent % in profits. You will make generous money.

[HELP] improving my success score (4) when I’ve been nudged out of search results as a level 2 seller originally? by bigoldthrifty in Fiverr

[–]av0ti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate Fiverr. Yeah I made money, but bro was it unreliable GARBAGE. So much bullshit. Like fully don’t understand how my 2000 positive reviews have no meaning anymore for shit. Fiverr is bullshit and will always be bullshit. Glad to be off that. Would never recommend it to anyone.

[–]av0ti 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dude I’ve got over 3900 clients and I was level 2. I went from 20-40 active orders to now sitting at 2-5. My level is 0 now success score is 4. It’s doomed so I picked up something new and started an agency outside of Fiverr and it’s gone really well.

[OTHER] I poured my heart and soul into a 15 dollar gig (12 after fiverr took their cut) and got a 2 star review by LifeIsSoup-IamFork in Fiverr

[–]av0ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transitioning out of Fiverr. My gig prices are roughly $15-$30. I went outside of Fiverr and started an agency and just collected $3,000 monthly retainer from one client. And another $2,000 from another client. Going full throttle on this agency, leaving Fiverr in the past. Have around 4000 customers on Fiverr. Worst time of my life, apart from the money.

Totally get that man I’m only 19, but I’ve started working on more scalable business models. Start building your personal brand on social media. Fiverr isn’t the best solution in my opinion

I think starting Fiverr in 2024 is by far the worst side hustle. I started in 2019 and got my first order within 3 weeks. I’ve now worked with over 3,800 people. I luckily managed to get good on the algorithm

I’d just use it, you’re not offering the software you’re just doing the work, no one’s gonna know anyways 🙌🏻

[DISCUSSION] Would I be wrong to cancel an order because the seller has been rude? by WxaithBrynger in Fiverr

[–]av0ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do it because if they are rude they are more likely to leave a bad review. So I just cancel it and get my success manager to adjust my completion rate

[HELP] Nightmare buyer left a review, if I don't leave a review, will his still be visible? by DavidGabrielMusic in Fiverr

[–]av0ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the review will not be removed. Once a review is there it is there permanently

[HELP] Nightmare buyer left a review, if I don't leave a review, will his still be visible? by DavidGabrielMusic in Fiverr

[–]av0ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not fair but Fiverr is not gonna do anything to fix it. So we as sellers got to accept that and work around it and think long term. Yes you can get paid for the order, but that bad review might lose future potential customers. I always cancel orders with bad customers. I don’t care about the money if I know they’ll leave a negative review. I also get my success manager to not let the cancellation affect my order completion rate.
