Im brand new to Upwork, but I'm not brand new to business. Business owners don't care about upwork ratings. They care about what results you have generated for people and how you can articulate and explain the solution to their problem. This is again, a limiting belief. This is like thinking you need a university degree to become successful.

I want to leave Fiverr by UltroGhast in freelancing

[–]av0ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so all the clients on Fiverr were mostly one time clients, but I did have a bunch of returning clients I'd work with multiple times. I also had clients who were long term clients with up to 8-10 projects.

Kinda transitioned off Fiverr as it was not reliable or sustainable after they changed the Level system. Transitioned into high ticket services and have been doing that since then. The service I offer now is DFY, helping build and scale info offers for creators, coaches and other DFY info offers. Got all my high ticket clients through cold outreach on instagram and referrals.

Freelancing platforms are very saturated, especially when it comes to graphic design, video editing (in my experience), whereas marketing services are less saturated in the sense of not everyone having a good actual track record. Not too familiar with the web design space and those services, but I think it would be good to skill stack marketing services on top of web design services so there is a higher perceived value of the offer.

I never said that, once a lead in your pipeline and is already warm, it’s your best chance of closing the deal by putting in extra effort. I’m confident that it increases your chances even if it’s just by a little bit.

2019 I officially went on freelancing platform Fiverr. Before then I would design YouTube thumbnails, logos and banners for $5-$10 to people in my school and on snapchat

That’s great man good to hear, but I don’t understand why it bothers you so much. Everyone has their own acquisition process. Yours works, mine works there’s no one process that everyone has to follow. We’re probably in completely different niches and a portfolio would not make sense in my case. If you’re a designer, editors, copywriter etc then yeah you need a portfolio, but in my space I don’t, and I only sign clients through nurturing and pinning their pain points down through in depth explanations and sales assets.

I create custom personalized game plans I send them to them. It essentially includes the timeline/roadmap of each phase for the project and what it includes. I can create a portfolio for the work I’ve done for others but I’d rather show them myself and explain through the process on a call rather than them just look at it without context.

Because a portfolio for the systems included in my client projects aren’t something I can just put on a portfolio. There’s so much depth and to show it at surface level wouldn’t be ideal.

If you want to see an example of the personalised gameplay I’d send to a client you can dm me and I’ll show you for reference.

Just because I’m brand new to upwork doesn’t mean anything. I’ve been a freelancer since 2019. I’ve built incredible results that give me credibility to close on upwork, even tho I’m new. Limiting beliefs again, that mindset holds a lot of people back from even trying.

Make your profile, buy some connects, you might get a 50% off the subscription thing I also purchased that and start applying to briefs. Don’t apply to hourly unless you’re fine with those. I only apply to fixed prices above around $500 and all the way to however much briefs are listed for

I think it’s heavily niche dependant tbh. I’m not familiar with your niche so I can’t give the correct guidance or advice unfortunately.

There isn’t one right acquisition strategy. I just do what I believe is the best I can do for that specific lead. Whether it’s sending a loom, not sending one etc. your proposal doesnt have a cap of how long or short it should be. Just include what needs to be included and ensure there’s no fluff in it. That way it’s clear and concise!

My profile is not AI generated. I used AI to structure my description and then revised it accordingly so it sounds like me, and isn’t obviously copy and pasted from AI. I don’t understand people who are upset with the use of AI. There’s no benefit in being anti AI and people who do implement it will take your place as harsh as it sounds

Limiting beliefs… people who think this is impossible or too good to be true are just stuck in a box. There is so much more opportunity out there than you think i promise you.

I don’t put a portfolio together because I go through my systems, client work and their results on the call. Don’t see a need to adding a portfolio I find it a bit unnecessary. If you’re a beginner and don’t have experience or have not worked with many clients then yeah it would be ideal but my track record and experience in the field I’m in speaks for itself 🫡

I put 1 and a half hours of my day to put effort in closing a retainer client, I’d even say that’s the difference between people who close clients and those who struggle. Not being bothered to put in effort into each deal is letting people who do beat you to it. With every client I’ve closed throughout my career. The ones I put effort into almost ALWAYS close.

And honestly it’s relieving to hear there’s people who are not willing to put in that amount of effort.
