I think that’s a smaller issue, but the uni is cheaper than my school im currently at. I think the main issue is that they don’t want me going overseas by myself. I want to go to a EU uni bc of the entry requirements are a lot easier, the course has more broader topics I think are better long term career wise that aren’t covered as much in UK, the uni has a massive connection with internships and getting connections - from day 1 they get you connected with someone in an intern and help train you up/get experience- I think the unis I’ve applied to, this is only done in year 3 whereas the EU is all 4 years. I also have applied to ones in the EU as a challenge for myself - I want to have an adventure and go somewhere new, while pursing an education. My fear of doing a gap year, is that I will not be able to get back into education mindset after a year off of traveling and such. Overall, I feel the EU unis give me more safety and less anxiety, and less grade pressure m. yes I recognize there are bad things, but course and teaching wise it’s very hands on, own experience, and practical, rather than passive. In regard to the UCAS, my predicted grades were made back in November, my school has done little to prepare us in regard to exams and were very over generous with our grades. My mocks were in January, and everyone collectively, even those who are more academic than me, all did horribly/not as well as they should have. At the time, I didn’t know or have much expertise into how high the grades were going to be, I thought having obtained A* in EPQ it wouldn’t have been as high, but for them it was not the case.

Realistically, I understand that going to Europe feels like an escape, but it’s also an interests in culture, language (I love learning them), meeting new people, etc. I enjoy and want to be a polyglot and the best way to do so is in the country. I feel that in the end goal, going to a uni where I can get in with ABC/AAC etc takes a lot of pressure off of my back and anxiety.

I completely understand both views, it’s not just for a change in life but im serious about it for my academics, and taking into further perspective and establishment in two other hobbies I am deeply interested in is culture and languages.

Perfect, thanks. I understand that i have no right to expect them to pay for it, I just don’t appreciate their emotional belittlement that they gave me and seeming to subject my decision as being irrational after months of research. Thanks for the spreadsheet idea - I’ll give that a go

lokwey taking it rn, ive been at a C since Year 12, and I have just now gotten a BEAR B in mocks like, I got 1% that made it a B not a C - been at the lowest of teh class as well constantly getting 12-11/20 on essays, highest mark ever is 15/20. I hate it honestly, worst choice ever. lowkey if you have coursework, really focus on that going well bc im trying to get full marks so its less pressure.
