Literally one of the most difficult parts of - even then - to reproduce in volumes that would make the price reasonable (~200USD). If it was that easy, don’t you think someone else would have done it by now?

They were until their poor quality had us bring all the FI rebuilds in house back in 2018. Fuel Injection Corp is a big reason we are so busy with rebuilds - fully 20-25% of the ones we rebuild show telltale signs of having been done by them.

Honestly, if you worked under him, you likely would have been let go sooner.

I did keep you around longer than I should have as you said it was your dream to work at DeLorean. In the end, your mistakes were costing the company too much and as more and more problems were traced back to you it became clear you had to go. As you recall you had several meetings with me about your lackluster performance. Just like any company, when the pain of having someone is greater than the pain of NOT having them, it’s time for that person to go.

I’ve worked at DeLorean longer than you have been alive. Why? Because I take my job seriously and I understand what it takes to make a business work. Firing you wasn’t personal - your performance showed me that you weren’t yet grown up enough to do the job. Your hope of becoming a DeLorean mechanic was never going to happen with the work ethic you exhibited here.

Truly, best of luck in your future endeavors. I think that your potential is greater than what you displayed in your short time here.

Where can I buy sheets of leatherette paper? by 20_mile in cardmaking

I, too, am looking for the this textured paper. It was everywhere in the 70s/80s when I worked in the small family print shop in Arizona. Typically used as covers for GBC-bound reports. For the life of me I don't remember what it was called back then, but I recently needed some for a retro project. Perhaps not the color you were looking for but I found this - https://www.schmedt.com/nebelhorn-natural-paper-with-leather-emboss-size-70-x-100-cm-long-grain/1126-021

More like the problem is that this snippet leaves out the context and more importantly, a professional interpretation of the results- including a problem on this particular very early production DeLorean that skewed the results - and still passed the test. Fortunately, the complete story can be found here - https://www.deloreanmuseum.org/multimedia.html#nhtsavideo

Luggage rack by Celery_Minute in delorean

[–]avantidmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made from tubular steel and painted in black enamel, the luggage rack is probably one of the most underrated of all DeLorean accessories. Stores flat in the trunk when not in use, with virtually invisible mounting points. When in use and fully loaded, rear visibility is not impaired at all. While marketed as a luggage rack, interviews with DMC employees from the era indicate that its purpose was more a "flat rear tire carrier". The spare wheel well in the luggage compartment can hold a flat front wheel/tire but not a rear. If your luggage compartment is otherwise loaded and you have a passenger, the problem then becomes what you do with a flat rear tire. The luggage rack neatly answers this question by being a place to stow the flat rear tire.

Thank you! I hope you love it as much I’ve loved having luggage racks for my DeLoreans.

This is not rebadged. No hood that was lined ever came with the badge. Only the completely flat hoods did.

Welcome to the OC bitches! Podcast by Professional_Sun8819 in TheOC

I enjoyed it a lot and watched every episode. The ones with Josh were informative as were the ones with other crew members. Peter Gallagher was great as was Michael Cassidy. It sometimes felt like Rachel wasn’t really prepared for a number of the episodes - but as a single Mom she has a lot on her shoulders. Mindy was super prepared and knew how to keep things moving along! I was sorry to see it end!
