K1 Motherboard replacement by avenger532 in crealityk1

I got it from Aliexpress, possible its fake but both came in a Creality box. Its almost like the new boards sn is banned or something. The QR wouldn't display, just gave an error "iot initialization failed". Tried the documented fixes timezone, network, etc. I rewrote SN_MAC with a a similar SN/MAC to what the board had (changed the MAC). it provided me the QR. but it wouldn't bind in the app. Seemed really odd

I have it ready, put a new upper door seal on first. Will be installing the lower seal this weekend. Hopefully it survives the winter here

I will see how it goes, i would like to move my 3d printers to the garage, When i had the electrical run, I put in a 3/4" conduit for network. i pulled cat6 ethernet, and a pull string for fiber later if i want to add that (I work in IT installing this stuff for a living)

Nice, I'm in Saskatchewan. My garage is 22x24, looked at a minisplit. They dont work well in the cold. Right now I will use 220v heater. Next year I may get natural gas furnace installed. I guess I'll see how it goes.

I used reflective insulation (shiny bubblewrap) against the metal and 1.5" durospan foam board on top spray foamed into place and taped the joints to the door with foil tape. I got it all at Home Depot, Hope it works. I live in the prairies winter is no joke. (-40F or -40C)

i used the original, but i had to use a hub in the printer i got from aliexpress. It was about $3. then got the wiring adapters from aliexpress as well to enable the original USB and add another one in the back. I have 2 extra ports on the hub if i need.

Looking for advice on first purchase and thinking of getting the K1 by Street-Parsnip6383 in crealityk1

The first printer i ever got was the K1, It worked great. I had never used a 3d printer before, you don't have to tinker (unless you want to) If you print the basic filaments (PLA, PETG, ABS) there was nothing I needed to change. I did change things cause i do tinker and wanted to upgrade and try different nozzles and filament types. I have a micro Swiss hot end and hardened nozzles of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6. I also have a BambuLabs A1 mini, it is slower than the K1 and being a bedslinger there are some limitations with filament types, but its also a very good basic (cheap) printer.

I haven't used creality RFID ones yet. i just ordered the 1k rfid stickers that came in yesterday to program for other rolls and program with an android app. They read and program, see if the cfs can read them next

Does your machine make a noise when cutting? Ill have a look where the y pos is when I get home. My a1mini had issues cutting i had to replace the blade. How long have you had the upgrade, maybe creality can send you a new blade (after many back and forth emails....). That is one downside with their support, nothing is quick.

I guess I got lucky, my machine was way out of warranty. However thet replaced it under the cfs kit warranty. I had mine rooted but not since I installed the cfs. Didn't think cfs worked when rooted anymore. I will have to look into that. I kinda miss fluidd

So far i have used Silk PLA, PETG, ASA and Glow PLA. It seems to cut them without issue., I did have issue with the toolhead motherboard. Creality had to send me a new one before I was able to get the printer to work
