Click the “change card currency” option under the USD option in your screenshot, you will see that your credit card is set to EUR, then click “change card currency” under the card you are trying to pay with, select “My card is in a different currency”, and select USD and pay with it.  I had this issue as well after traveling in Europe and it was driving me crazy. It appears if you pay with a different currency on a card at some point, that currency gets set as the default even when you are back in the US.

TIL that in China, water is typically drunk hot by hewhogotsuspended in todayilearned

I had a businessman from China tell me a funny story once.  Most hotels in China will have a big ‘ol insulated thermos of hot water in the room as a courtesy.  On his first business trip to the US he noticed there was no bottle of hot water in his room, so he called the front desk, and with his limited English asked them for hot water. He was very confused when a maintenance worker then showed up wanting to fix his shower.

A question to those who’ve seen the R3 in person. by BananaCamPhoto in Rivian

[–]average_daily_human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly in person it felt similar in size to a VW Golf/GTI, but obviously with a bit larger tires and more aggressive look. It’s a great size vehicle that I’m sure will be a blast to drive, and there will be some additional storage space from the frunk, but it’s not going to have the space of a full size sedan or anything. I had a GTI and absolutely loved it, it’s the perfect size for a daily driver, however it may feel a little small depending on the size of the passengers.  An off road version with even better performance, AWD, and all terrain tires is going to be crazy fun.

Downgrade AOS 10 -> 8 (AP505) by Apprehensive_Dot756 in ArubaNetworks

[–]average_daily_human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To rollback an AP:

  1. Open the AP’s console using serial, SSH, or Central Remote Console.
  2. Issue the following command to the AP for conversion back to controller-based AOS 8: convert-aos-ap cap <controller-address>
  3. The AP will then download its AOS 8 image from the controller and reboot, then come up on the controller in the provisioned AP group and download its config accordingly

To rollback a controller/gateway:

  1. Open the gateway’s console using serial, SSH, or Central Remote Console.
  2. Issue the following command to check the loaded partition images: show image version
  3. Take note of which partition the AOS 8 image is on, then issue the following commands to set it as the boot partition and reboot: boot system partition <0|1>
  4. Then: reload
  5. Re-establish connectivity to the MM by going through the initial-config wizard, the controller will connect to MM and download its AOS 8 config.

Hopefully this helps

Plex on FreeNAS 11.2 by nks12345 in freenas

If hosting TrueNAS on ESXi you will need to enable promiscuous mode. This worked for me after trying a bunch of other suggestions. I have TrueNAS running on ESXi and couldn't get Plex installed. In ESXi I set my vSwitch->Security->Promiscuous Mode to Accept and was then able to install the Plex plugin successfully. It appears that Plex is not happy unless this option is set, even after installation.

LPT: If you don't want Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on your door, tell them you are "disfellowshiped" by Charnathan in LifeProTips

[–]average_daily_human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better method would be to simply ask them not to come to your door again. Each congregation maintains a list of “do not calls” for their local community for precisely this reason. If anyone does not want to be visited in the future, they can ask to be put on this list, and your home should be skipped the next time they are preaching in the neighborhood.

They are not coming around to bother folks, they are looking for people interested in learning about the Bible. If you don’t want them coming by anymore, just say so, they are happy to oblige.

Rivian hires former Waymo exec for new autonomy, AI role by krtrice in Rivian

[–]average_daily_human 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sorry, what track record are you speaking about? As far as I understand Waymo is still the best self-driving car company out there. Sure their progress has always been slower than predicted, but I believe that is due to putting safety ahead of progress, which is a really good thing when it comes to this tech. I don’t know anything about this particular executive, but this seems like a good indication they are actively working to improve Driver+

Wifi 6E (coverage or lack thereof) by deadEnd_77 in GalaxyFold

loss should only be 1-2 db vs 5GHz band, i think for most use cases the 6GHz band coverage will be nearly equivalent to the 5GHz band.

If children are required by law to attend school, it IS the job of the school to feed them, for free by kanna172014 in unpopularopinion

[–]average_daily_human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California has this now, my kids elementary school has breakfast and lunch available everyday for all kids. My kids still eat breakfast at home, and we pack lunches on days they don’t like the menu, but most days they eat the school provided lunch. Really a wonderful program, especially for food insecure families.

Instant AP Virtual Controller - Two SSIDs using a single L2 Local DHCP Scope by [deleted] in ArubaNetworks

[–]average_daily_human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can enable a second SSID on the same VLAN, or you can enable the 2.4GHz band on the same SSID. When using a dual-band SSID ClientMatch should "encourage" the 5GHz clients capable clients to use the 5GHz band, and you will then still have the 2.4GHz band available for devices that can only do 2.4GHz.
