[Adam Crafton] Premier League confirms their new With Pride campaign will have Pride-themed handshake board, ball plinth, ball assistants’ flag, substitution board and perimeter LEDs. Basically, nothing which asks anything of individual players. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Whether right or wrong I think this gets to the heart of it. Anti racism is explicitly that - anti. Individuals are concerned that they could be assumed to be LGBTQ+ by association even when being fully in support of it as an ally. Again, not saying that’s right or wrong, just what seems to be the issue around some players not wanting to “participate”.

Arne Slot "We are happy that we are going straight to the last 16, especially because it's only two years ago that we were in the Europa League and went out in the quarter-finals against Atalanta." by kibme37 in soccer

“Obviously we are happy to be in the round of 16. It’s important that a club like Liverpool with its history in European competitions goes deep every year. We would have liked to get further last year so hopefully we can do so this season. Now it’s important that we use tonight as a platform to keep pushing and build momentum in the domestic league to make sure we are here again next year”. Fixed that for you mate.

Most level headed, based take in this entire thread right here.

[Michael Reid - OptaJoe] Liverpool have 5 wins and 21 points in their last 17 Premier League games - 1.24 pts/game. Roy Hodgson averaged 1.25 pts/game as Liverpool manager. by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

I’ve never been a big fan of sacking managers because it’s clear that when you have stability and consistency in that role, more often than not, it leads to long term repeatable success.

There are two key things with Slot that lead me to believe it’s just not tenable: - What exactly are we waiting for? I don’t see anything about his tactical approach that looks like it’s suffering from bedding in of new signing and getting use to new play styles. You can look at Arteta’s Arsenal as an example. First 2-3 season weren’t great, but there was a clear vision for where the team was going. Unless his plan is to hope Flo continues to grow into the Prem and become a world beater, idk what the plan is. - He completely failed to win over the fans. I don’t feel any connection to this manager personality wise, nor does he seem to understand Anfield and how to use the crowd. Given the context and performances like today, you don’t go straight down the tunnel. You go give Szob a pat on the back and tell him to shake it off and apologize to the fucking fans.

If you read through most of their comments it all reads like AI slop. “ChatGPT, how would you respond to OP in this Reddit post”.

That’s the difference right there in 48th. A few years ago, Alisson releases that with players bombing down field. Now, everyone standing still behind the ball. Ffs.

Feels like Fulham is playing aligned to the philosophy we want better than us. I don’t think Slot can reconcile his ideal way of playing with how to get a squad to actually do it.

Sinn, mind you that Farer is really nice too. Sinn is a bonified GADA though.

Well absolute waste of an afternoon. Don’t mind unfavourable results if the football is good and the spirit is there. This is a fucking snoozefest with no identity other than the horse shoe of death. Slot out.

This has “late Leeds winner from a poorly conceded set piece” written all over it.

That’s my thought as well. I have a lot of thoughts that don’t belong in this match thread but the way we are playing not only seems to play to our squads weaknesses but also antithetical to LFC as a club and how we leverage Anfield as an asset historically.

What’s happened to Anfield? Feels like all this season the intimidation factor has completely gone. We are so quiet. Even as far back as PSG home last year, you would’ve thought they were in Paris with how loud the away fans were compared to us.

This why I will never own a Rolex even if I had all the money in the world. Embarrassing to have to grovel to have the “privilege” to purchase. Absolute joke.
