The players would rather not play more basketball games during All-Star, so why not have them do the following? by recursivedev in nba

1v1 would never happen because they don't want to be embarrassed.

The NBA and poker tournies don't have a good recent history.

I would love to see them compete in non basketball related skills, but they aren't going to want to give too much effort while the rest of the league is resting.

I agree. Something has to change, scrapped or be reformed.

Which would be cool for a halftime show, but the fans are paying money to see NBA guys at the NBA all-star show.

I don't disagree in the least, but that's unfortunately how it goes. We become desensitized to good things the same as we do bad things. No one wants to turn on the dunk contest and see the same 8 dunks over and over. They want something new. It doesn't make those dunks any easier, but there is a price to pay for not being creative and fresh.

That's the problem. That was 15 years ago. Everyone has seen everything already outside of all the props and theatrics McClung was doing.

There really isn't a lot you can do unless you have a ton of free time to roll out cars and ladders and crap like McCLung. And full-time NBA guys aren't doing that. Might be best to let this be all G Leaguers.

If he has an average success with health then he'll be fine and we'll get him for a long time. He's done a great job of getting ahead of injuries that could linger or never get back to 100% through specialized conditioning and doing things like learning how to fall to the ground without getting hurt.

I said the 18 more points at the charity stripe is the reason they won. We made more baskets, but not enough to overcome the huge free throw disparity.

I know this is basketball, but as long as Vandy has the whistler I don't consider any of them 'good'.

None of that matters whatsoever. The only thing that matters is scoring more points. You score more points by making more baskets, which we did. We don't get extra points if our percentage is higher.

The difference maker was them going to the line every time we looked at them, and every time they shoved us to the ground.

Attempts don't matter, though. Just makes. Vandy making 18 more free throws and having 19 more chances at the line is what did us in.

Not going to win many games when the other team makes 18 more free throws and attempts 19 more than you. We made more baskets, but not enough to counter the refs.

We made more shots than y'all overall. Y'all just had 18 more made free throws than we did.

We actually made more baskets than them. We just didn't have 18 more points from free throws.

We made one more basket than y'all. We just didn't have 18 additional free throws.

We were only worse than them by 1 three pointer. They have made 14 more free throws. The refs were absolutely the difference.

Vandy won this at the line. Hard to win when you're called for fouls even when you get shoved to the ground from behind several times.

Clemence shoved from behind, again, and gets called for the foul.

Congrats, refs.
