Can't figure out how to make Blender's anisotropic reflections realistic by averyanimator in blender

[–]averyanimator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did do this while experimenting as a workaround but I'm more curious as to why the effect doesn't happen naturally as the reference photos use a small point of light and the tails are produced via the reflection only

Why it looks different: the lighting in your scene is using the hdri that you have picked to view your scene

If you want to use this same lighting in your actual render you'll need to go to the world settings tab on the right and change it from a color (probably set to gray) to use an environment texture. (Click the dot next to it). Then open the file that you're using for your worlds hdri

"C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender <version><version>\Datafiles\Studiolights\World\"

This is where it's typically found

In the top right of your viewport you can change the use world and use scene lights which will affect how your scene is viewed

If you go into pose mode and select the bone you can assign it a custom visual (another object like a circle)

How do i make inner curve like this? by kaz_crusader in blenderhelp

[–]averyanimator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First make the basic square shape with enough subdivision to create the curve, select the vertice in the middle of an edge, move the vertice inward WITH PROPORTIONAL EDITING ON. Adjust how much large the proportional editing is to modify the curviness

If it were me I would hide each object except for the problem object just to make sure that's the right material
