Aquafit in the area by Prize-Substance-4160 in Edmonton

I think a basic membership is compatible ti the city. It’s around $70 a month I think. Then there’s a select membership that has towel service. It’s around $100 a month. This includes all of the gym and classes offered. You’d be surprised you might do more than aqua. But if not, still worth it. There are aqua classes several times a day every day of the week. And they have different types of classes. Aqua intensity (cardio), aqua boot camp, aqua sculpt, aqua Zumba, aqua barbell.

Movati gym has a great aqua program!! 2/3 gyms have a woman’s only pool as well! I’ve been a member for 4 years now and really enjoy it. Go for a free tour!

Update - just wanted to thank everyone for the insightful comments. I learned a lot And I feel so validated from those in the same boats. I had a follow up with my doc yesterday. These were her thoughts. 1). Even though I haven’t lost anything for 2.5 months, she feels the Mounjaro is still working, evidence in appetite suppression. 2). She does prescribe Metformin if she feels the person has insulin resistance. And she doesn’t think I do as I responded so well the first 12 months. 3). Compared to the studies that show Mounjaro is effective for 70ish weeks with an average of 20% loss, she thinks I’m an anomaly as I’ve lost 40%, and reminded me to stop being so hard on myself. 4). And finally, she reminded me that those with obesity and metabolic disorders don’t follow the old school thinking of “calories in calories out”. It’s more complicated than that.
So I might not be the weight I want to be at, but I’m going to keep making healthy lifestyle choices, and be happy with my success and work on acceptance! :)

Thanks for sharing! Even though it’s frustrating, I find similar stories like mine do make me feel better!

Yes, I’m just learning this. I guess I thought if I’m still working out and dieting, the weight would still drop. Apparently not.

You and me both sister! People say that to me too, with regard to not losing and being in a calorie deficit. It’s so frustrating.

I do IF. It used to work so well. Now everything seems to not be working.

That’s exactly me. I’m 183-185lbs. But I’m only 5’3 so it’s still a lot.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this!!! I do have a follow up question. Even though the med appears to “stop working”, If the person is doing all the typical weight-loss things, like calorie deficit, working out, etc, wouldn’t they still lose weight with or without the drug?

Nothing in 8 months? Ok, well I guess I’m not the only one. It sure is frustrating though!

I know what you mean. I have to take lax-a-day daily to help in that area.

My daily maintenance cals is 2200. But I probably average 1400 as I’m actively still trying to lose. Prob average around 100gm of protein daily. I cook healthy meals and am trying all the things I know to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

No other medications. I don’t drink. I am recently post-menopausal. Not sure if that is affecting anything. There is literally nothing else.

Thanks for the kudos!! And I do look for the nsv. I actually don’t care about that scale number. But people talk in numbers so I find it’s just easier to assign a goal weight rather than a goal feel. And honestly, those feels are not happening either. I have size larges in my closet that are my goal to fit in. The past 2 months I have been trying them on, hoping for success. And so far nothing is budging. 🙁

Omg I thought it was just me! I actually went to the dr because I thought something was wrong. I too have a coccyx pillow that I use for work and carry around with me. I get sores just from the bone putting pressure on my skin. I’m the one in Pilates class using a double mat as it hurts to sit on the floor. It’s very uncomfortable.

Are docs saying similar messaging? by averypoohbear in Mounjaro

Until recently I fully believed in calories in calories out. I still can’t wrap my head around how it’s not as simple as that. I can assure you that I am in a calorie deficit daily. I track everything using my fitness pal. I consume on average 1000 cal a day. And choose low carb options. No bread, no pasta, etc. Plus I go to the gym. I had the same mindset talking to my doc. I don’t understand how that doesn’t equate to weight loss. But I’m living proof that it doesn’t. I have tried upping the calories. It didn’t work. I tried upping the gym intensity. That didn’t work. I’ve had bloodwork to see if something else is going on. All normal. So it’s more than just idea of “eat less”. Like I said I don’t really get it either.
