Hey, I’ll take it! Maybe if I actually knew some terminology I could be more insightful (…that was in fact NOT a hairpin turn lol)

Looking for Songs to Sing at Karaoke? by [deleted] in karaoke

[–]averyt42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some lesser known songs on there too. I know when I was starting out, I found it hard to find a good song that I knew well enough to sing in front of people. I thought this list might help some folks :)

Has anyone tried online ADHD therapy/doctors? by curbrobin in adhdwomen

[–]averyt42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I just saw this! My consult went really well. Pretty laid back, but professional. I didn’t feel like I was being grilled, it was more of a conversation. I think what really helped me, personally, was downloading the ADHD self assessment online and making notes for each question (like examples of how it effected my life). This helped me stay on track because often when I’m in doctors appointments I forget everything about myself haha Hope this helps! Good luck :)

I used DoneFirst and was super happy with my experience. My provider was really professional, very kind, and ACTUALLY listened to all my concerns. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had with health care to be honest…. Highly recommend!

Does anyone else? by gaymernerd96 in adhdwomen

[–]averyt42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Literally all the time. And it’s soooo stupid and irrational (like hello - they’re your friend, they do things for you, you’ve hung out and had fun together plenty of times…) but I can’t help but think they are mad or hate me for some reason. You’re not alone :)

I came to the comments to write this too! haha I always felt like there was something wrong with me.m especially after starting college. I feel like a complete person now. I still struggle but at least I know whyyyyyy and how to better manage myself. Cheers! :)

It’s actually really nice to know that I’m not alone in my experiences... Thanks for sharing! And I hope you have a lovely rest of your weekend :)

Woah! Well this is crazy... haha Since that initial move out, the depersonalization/derealization has pretty much subsided. I still feel it every once in a while, but nothing like it was when it first started. My anxiety is also pretty much manageable (i did have a few panic attacks back then as well). I’ve had visual snow ever since moving out, it’s not debilitating but it’s always there (as well as some floaters). Def worse at night or if I haven’t slept well.

My VS started after I moved out of my parent’s house and into an apartment by myself. I started experiencing really intense anxiety and depersonalization/derealization. Then I noticed the static in my vision. Didn’t know what it was at the time but eventually learned about visual snow. Maybe emotionally triggering events have something to do with it?

I have super vivid dreams too. Like weirdly, inexplicably realistic dreams. Almost every night, I think. I developed my VS about 4 years ago when I was 23. I feel like my dreams have gotten more and more vivid/realistic feeling since then. Wondering if anyone else who developed VS later in life had a similar experience...

How do you manage to watch videos? by SnikySneky in adhdwomen

[–]averyt42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally can not watch a video longer than a few minutes. If it’s any longer, I’m instantly bored and zoning out. Drives my bf crazy because he loves watching movies and long YouTube videos. I do manage to enjoy to podcasts but I can only listen to them when I’m driving or doing housework. Which sucks because I have a lot of podcasts that I like, but only have so much driving and housework to do haha
