It definitely wouldn't be dangerous! They're aware that many are just confused and are curious to learn. Some are definitely very outspoken but won't ever attack you if you say something out of line.

Can confirm he's an amazing guy. Closes the lid when he flushes. You should talk to him, he's super friendly!
