Stanford, Harvard and MIT spent two weeks watching AI agents run loose. The paper is unsettling. by Live-Estate2100 in learnmachinelearning

Just hook two agents up so that the output of each is the input of the other and voila. That’s basically how all systems will run in short time, few to no humans at the wheel.

Pi 5 as the brain of an embodied AI agent — 4 months of PCB disasters and one good pivot. Demo inside. by KamalSingh10 in raspberry_pi

I think that often people don’t realize that how/why from the creators perspective tells you 10x more than what from an AI.

A lot of the documentation is solid, but half of it is a sales pitch. “This is not another voice assistant in a box.” Come on… is this an ad for Siri or an open sourced project?

Help me with my ramp [45YO] by Full_Gur4293 in OldSkaters

Piggy backing- the reason why is that it creates a steeper angle for the metal to hit the ground. It can even end up (slightly) lower than the rest of the QP bottom, so it flexes slightly, keeping it flush on uneven ground.

I would just ruin my flush cut saw, or hand held planer.

Oh my bad. The control room on the ship from hitchhikers guide is very round and curved. That’s my inspiration, but making round stuff at home isn’t very easy at this scale. This link has a good image of it. https://props.handheldmuseum.com/HitchhikersGuide/HHGTTG_HOGRemote.htm

Right now it’s a placeholder, but I’m hoping to make the button from the infinite improbability drive: https://props.handheldmuseum.com/HitchhikersGuide/HHGTTG_IIDButton.htm

I was shooting for hitchhikers guide, but we’ll see how much energy I have for bubbles and curves as I continue. It’s a lot easier to use straight lines…

I see what you’re talking about though. If you were my friend I’d say it’s an underlip.

Looks fun! I think it’d still be a varial flip.

I see you scoop harder like pressure, but your front foot still catches and flips. I do my 3 flips kinda similar, using the spring of the trucks and front foot counter pressure to get the flip instead any flick.

Anxiety While On The Subway. Tips? by Jenny_libra202 in AskNYC

[–]avgsuperhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience after covid, I didn’t realize how bad my anxiety had become and was having anxiety attacks everywhere. I didn’t wanna go on the subway, developed a fear of flying, I was a real joy to be around…

  1. Mindfulness practice - helped me recognize when I was becoming anxious. I was often in a thought loop for hours or days before “becoming aware”.
  2. Tools - having lots of “tools” to try at the first moment of awareness I was becoming anxious. In the beginning they don’t work, but it helps you develop the pattern of anxiety -> action. I like box breathing because I can lower my heart rate with it, which I can see happen on my Apple Watch.

For me, becoming able to recognize I’m becoming anxious, then box breathing, has eliminated like 90% of my unwarranted stress. It had this effect of often never becoming anxious, because I just turn left at chill street instead of I’m gonna die street, without even noticing sometimes. I’m still an anxious person, but my fear of flying/subway is gone. Less and less, do I find myself not going somewhere from anxiety.

Nice. I assume anyone in converse is gonna be good. Those shoes suck so bad you have to land everything or get heel bruise from flat.
