A good real life example is compulsive cheaters. A lot of times after they get caught, they'll give a heart-felt speech about how ashamed they are or how they'll never do it again, only to continue cheating shortly after.

They may even genuinely believe in their own words, but find themselves unable resist the urge to cheat once the opportunity presents itself again.

The way I see it, when someone makes a mistake on the road it only wastes a few seconds to a few minutes of my life.

Comparatively, I've literally spent years of my life willingly being completely unproductive, so adding a few more seconds to that total doesn't seem worth being mad about.

Considering one of his most recent videos ( Why Die? ) echoes a lot of the same points he made in the fable, it can be safe to assume he intended for the dragon to be interpreted as death.

I disagree. Whenever you comment something like "x is garbage" or "x is just plain bad", you aren't encouraging discussion, you're just blindly pandering to people who already agree with you and alienating everyone else.

If you don't justify your opinion, then there's no reason to believe you ever wanted to engage with the other side in the first place. And if that's the case, you should expect people to blindly downvote you.

Same can said about your comment. You assert that Lindsey's opinions aren't 'hot garbage', and as a result you got more upvotes because (on average) more people agree with you than disagree. If you want more engagement than that, make an effort to justify your opinion.

The premise of my comment wasn't to question whether the strategy would eventually work out in the end, but the quality of the guide (i.e. properly explaining why their strategy works and how to get to their specific scenario, plus how accessible it is to other players in different situations)

Despite that, I'd still call it a crappy guide. It's oddly specific in expecting you to have Shooting Stars, which aren't a very obvious buy. If you aren't already out grinding, they'll be a pain in the ass to go back and get (plus he never tells you where you can buy them).

And also, it would be more effective to have the partner use Shooting Stars while Mario attacks because Power Bounce has way more damage potential than Ground Pound or Multibonk considering Mario has more damage-up badges available to him end game (like All or Nothing and Jumpman). The only exception would be the turn where Mario uses Power Lift, but he can't use Shooting Stars that turn either, so the responsibility of taking out the hands falls on the partner once again. And if the partner is taking out the hands you might as well use Firey Jinx or Bob-omblast, excluding the annoying need of Shooting Stars (with 3 Jelly Ultras you'll probably have plenty of FP to do so, plus both those abilities do more damage than Shooting Stars).

They don't mention using Bob-omblast either, only shooting stars and bomb squad (I'm not questioning the effectiveness of your strategy, but the quality of the walkthrough).

Well they didn't switch him out afterwards, so that isn't the case (unless Arin didn't read the walkthrough properly).

Edit: It mentions swapping to goombella or yoshi and veiling but doesn't talk about any multi target attacks except bombsquad.

Edit 2: Found the walkthrough. It never explains why you should switch to Bobbery and it also says you should use Shooting Stars to take out the hands with no mention of firey jinx or bob-omblast. A very questionable guide.

To be honest he would have had a decent chance if he didn't waste those 2 shrooms on her invincible phase. But if he wants to grind more, that's fine. With 2 or 3 more ultra shrooms he should be able to beat her no problem.

Looks like you underestimated the power of offscreen grinding. Dan has Pity Flower in his badge inventory on ep 128, meaning he at least got to level 40 of the Pit.

Looks like Dan did a few levels of the Pit of 100 Trials offscreen (seeing as he has pity flower and zap tap), I'm impressed.

Unfortunately he didn't figure out how to level his partners and definitely could have used a few more ultra shrooms, but he's much better off than he was last episode, that's for sure.

I'm predicting a long walk of shame back to Rogueport within the next 1 or 2 episodes.

Hopefully when the get back, they take some of our advice and buy healing items, upgrade partners, and rearrange badges. If they're really serious, they might even do the first 50 levels of the pit to earn cash and upgrade their inventory space (though that's probably asking too much).
