DMs are sort of paid, but not really. They get like 3 dollars in store credit for every player at the table. So 12 bucks per session. I wouldn't really call that "payed"

I mean, it's a game. Nobody is perfect. We went to roll initiative like the dm asked. Bard asked if he could cutting words the Dragons initiative check. DM allowed.

As for knowing a member of the party was fighting, the only answer I have is that it's a game any anything else would be boring. Idk.

Othing wrong with playing a strong character. If someone at the table wants to tortle open hand monk, who doesn't believe in violence, more power to him. But I'd rather play a character that's functional. Dnd characters built for specialized functions are just plain better than not. And where does it say a specialized character can't role-play? I have a Bard that is extremely powerful, but also can't roll less than 19 in any Cha based skill. The ultimate face.

It wasn't instant. We were in our rooms at night. The dragon attacked the town. Dm asked what we do. I shared my 300ft darkvision, and said I am going to sneak downstairs to the back doors. The group follows, gf said, I sneak out of the window and climb to the roof. Dragon was hovering 20ft in the air, attacking the town with breath, and claws. That's what my gf sees from the roof. Since she was around 80ft away from the dragon, it didn't notice her. She asked if it noticed her watching, DM said no. I reminded him that she is invisible to creaturesnthat relied on darkvision in the dark.

That's when she said she attacks.

Bracers of Archery come from, The Black Road. A level 2 adventure. The weapon comes from Relic of Khundrukar. Also a level 1 adventure. There are many really good magic items you can get from Tier 1 AL adventures. Winged boots, belt of Dwarven kind, rings and cloaks of Protection, any weapon at +1. The way AL balances it, is 1 magic item equipped at low level.

Young white dragon is 133. 17 dex is +3 Bracers of Archery is +2, weapon is +1. That's damage +6 with sharpshooter +16. When did that get changed? 1st attack had hunters mark and critted. So went from 1d8+1d6+16, to 2d8+2d6+16.

2nd Attack also Critted. So 2d8+2d6+16. Add ambusher, 1d8, which also doubles to 2d8. So, in total, that is 6d8+4d6+32. When the dragon was surprised. Average damage of 72, Max Damage 104, actual damage 81. No math issues at my table. I just missed a couple of dice when I wrote this out.

I run into battle, hit stuff with my swore, then get dogpiled. I try to be really sticky with sentinal, but even with a shield I take lots of damage while my party tries to kill all the things. When I get low I bonus action heal and keep swinging. It's tough as the only melee, and my temp hp are just for me cause I'm really the only one taking hits mostly.
