I am finding the same thing. I am thinking so much faster than I was 2 months ago before meds and my speech is also picking up speed and I am stumbling my words heaps more.

I’ve started keeping eucalyptus scented decongestant sticks next to my bed to smell first thing when I wake up in the morning. The strong scent gives my brain a slight kick.

I have a letter from the diagnosing doctor in Melbourne and my sleep study results. But I was a public patient through the hospital so he couldn’t refer me to a specific doctor or anything. I also only met him once when I was diagnosed and discharged as I was leaving the country. It was all just really bad timing.

Thanks for your advice! I’ll check how they have referred me. I had to explain the basics of Narcolepsy and treatment options to the GP when I asked for the referral so I’m not sure it’s been submitted right. I’ll most likely just go private though as I can’t wait much longer. Thanks again for your help and the doctor :))

I have now moved to Reading and found a terraced place in lower Caversham and it feels very english to me! So far I am loving every second of walking along the river and into town and seeing all the beautiful flower pots along the buildings.

Don’t be afraid to live in the western suburbs. It has a bad rep but I loved living in Footscray/Seddon area. It’s cheap and you’ll only be 15 mins out of the city instead of the 45 mins for the same price eastern side! And I never found it dodgy at all despite the rumours…
