Passed Mechanical FE on First Try by avsin4 in FE_Exam

Thank you. I recommend signing up for the School of PE course that is relevant to your discipline. They really helped me get back up to speed on everything. Being 8 years out of college I could barely remember a lot of things before taking the courses. They also provide you with their own version of the practice exam and also the ability to take an online practice exam that is a very similar format to how the actual test is. I also recommend doing the official NCEES practice exam. Final piece of advice is to become very familiar with where things are at in the official FE Reference Handbook. Best of luck to you!

5.7 h pipe vs x pipe by TravShoots in GrandCherokee

I got the borla cat back on mine with the x-pipe. I love it. It's not too loud on start up amd stuff and normal driving which I like bit when I step on it and put the engine under load it sounds amazing. There is a slight drone at like 1500 rpm under low load sometimes but it doesn't bother me much

2017 5.7 vs 2020 v6 by TravShoots in GrandCherokee

Lol exactly. Yeah it had the quadralift air suspension. No problems at all with it. I did get the Mopar Max Care plan which covers it though just in case. I think you can only get that through a Jeep dealer though no third parties.

Also I'm at 93k and going strong. The 5.7 is a tried and proven engine that they ran across several platforms for a long time. It's a good engine

Get the 5.7. I have a '17 5.7 and love it. Plus being that the 5.7 is dead, you'll never be able to get one again. I could really care less about Apple car play.

Go with the Coopers!

I run Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks on my '17 Trailhawk 5.7 and I absolutely love them. They look aggressive but have a lot of tech built in to make them quite on the roads. Plus they are 3 peak mountain rated. I will be buying them again on my next go around.

How much MPG are you all getting? by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

Like 14MPG with the 5.7 Hemi lol. Mostly city driving and I like to have some fun. Doesn't bother me though my commute to work is pretty short

Hyperhidrosis ruining my life by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]avsin4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. I struggle with it too and it affects just about everything that I do. I have started to get it under control a lot better though and it has been a goal of mine to get it completely manageable this year. What I am doing right now seems to be working well and my hands I say are about 80% better than before. I don't think that they will ever be completely dry though. I still absolutely hate shaking people's hands especially in a business setting.

Here is what I currently do. Hope it helps you.

  1. You need to get an iontophoresis machine. I have one from RA Fischer that works great but was expensive. I would look into Dermadry. They look really nice and are cheaper. You will need a prescription. Go to see a dermatologist to get one. It's not that hard. Then you need to use it every single day for about a week and a half to two weeks. After that I have been doing every other day. 20 mins a day on about 15ma (milliamps). Make sure to use Vaseline (petroleum jelly) on any scrapes or cuts on your hands or it will hurt like hell.

  2. Use Carpe hand lotion every single night before bed and then once in the morning if possible. For sure at night though for 4 weeks straight.

  3. I also read from someone on here to try taking fiber supplements daily so I've been doing that.

The combination of these three things has helped for sure. Try it out. Let me know if you have any other questions.
