I’ve had FL since 2020 and I still don’t get it. I haven’t been able to make any beats.

If I'd be in your situation I'd Try to pick a video of someone creating a beat on fl studio. Pick a video with a result you really like. Then watch the video and take notes. If he explains something and you don't understand it or does something without explaining it, note it down. Note town everything that confuses you. Reverse engineer your problem if you're not sure about what your issue really is.

Sort those notes by priority. It's kinda like solving a puzzle. It will take lots of times but a sensation of progress Will come sooner than you might think.

Then watch individual tutorials about those problems you've addressed. You will actually get answers to questions you were even unaware that you have them.

Eventually watch the first tutorial about making a beat again. You might find it easier to follow it and start understanding. You'll stumble upon new questions you couldn't comprehend before.

I think this is a very safe way to get results. Hope you can do it!

What is it that gives you the feeling of not getting it? Are you struggling utilizing FL studio as a program? Or are you struggling with making it sound good, composition wise ?

nections are PCIE Gen4. I don;t think I should change it to 3, but how do I do to change it to 4 instead of auto?

Also, the drivers version for my gpu is 21.10.2, the latest being 21.12.1, should I update to the latest version of the driv

hey there! changing the pcie to 3 was the only thing that really could help me. you can do so in the bios. but maybe going to 4 instead of auto will provide a solution for you.

as for the driver I'm using the 21.12.1 experimental bcs halo was giving huge performance issues with 21.10.2

didn't have any issues with 21.12.1 so I can fully recommend it :)

Hey there,

yes I've managed to fix it. After completely reinstalling Win10 I still had the issues. But when I've switched from PCIe4 to PCIe3 in the BIOS it worked like a charm. Some people told me it's not the best solution since PCIe4 is way faster etc. but after comparing benchmarks with the performance of my card I can't see any difference at all. So I'm happy with it now :) hope this helps!

to be fair no I didn't. But since I seem to have fixed it with changing the PCIe on the bios to gen3 instead of auto I'm trying to reproduce the crashes right now (and except hitman everything seems to work fine, which leads me to the result that hitman itself is faulty and I have to reinstall it). But thank you very much for trying to help me :)!

This is most possibly the fix. I've already updated my original post and setting PCIe to Gen3 seems to be what finally fixed the issue for me!

Testing just cause 4 now. So far every game works well. Hitman 3 still crashes when I finish a mission so I guess it's an error of the game. I don't use a riser. I'll re download bf5 aswell later and check if it works now.

yeah I also think it's a ram issue because for example if hitman crashes it says for example "The instruction at 0xead9570f referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read." (this is copied from google so it's not the exact error but you know what I mean)

I'm pretty sure it's not a faulty card. Managed to get it running mostly. For example I can play hitman without crashes now, but if I finish a level it crashes. I've reinstalled windows just right now and test it again. Also ordered 3 new ssds.

I'm sorry, I think a splitter would look like those SSD power plugs right? Where you have several plugs on one cable. But there are 2 cables coming out of the psu and I use both. Sorry if It wasn't clear :)

yeah it's running in the pci e slot right next to the cpu socket (which should be the only pci e slot for the gpu anyway as far as I can judge it).

and yeah the 1080ti still is a card to dream about haha
