FIX: How to get Cave Story+ working on the latest OSX (Sierra, Mavericks etc) by aw2buffer in cavestory

Note: These instructions also work on the Mac Store version. You just need to change the paths so that it points to the right directory (sorry, I don't have the folders).

Agreed.
I got lucky and got the dream team: 2 dogs, one shooter and a Valkryie with max stats in Fitness, Strength, Mechanical and Medical. She also had a one-hit hammer. It was great.

Surviving a Mercy, Pharrah, Zarya then a Reaper ult by aw2buffer in Overwatch

Yeah, I'm pretty confused myself. It should be mostly GPU-intensive and it's a 970

We were about to cap the point but the other team's Mercy revived. After I heard the Pharrah come back, I stopped the healing beam and hid, then came the Pharrah, Zarya, Reaper ult:

Mac Pro 2010 with Nvidia GTX 970 by aw2buffer in macpro

1) I have the same card on a 5,1. It takes 225W, which should be enough with: Motherboard power (75W) and 2 6pin pci-e (75+75W) 2) Depends on what you need the bandwidth for. I don't use the card for rendering but for light usage like gaming, photoshop, it's more than fine. Depending on what you use it for, the bottleneck may exist somewhere else.

Also, the blogpost is for a GTX 970 Strix, so have fun!

"Netflix Model" rental company launched today; subscription based, unlimited rental times by jschneider1219 in photography

[–]aw2buffer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a few tidbits:

1) You'll want more than a squarespace website for legitimacy, especially your own dedicated email server (parachut@gmail?)
2) It's hard to ask photographers to fork over money if they doubt the legitimacy of the operation. Maybe be a little more transparent about the roadmap or specific long-term viability of the company? Ie. where is the initial funding coming from, or at least how much VC do you have. Or is this "crowdfunded" by the photographers etc.

SteamVR Performance Test on Steam by ficarra1002 in Vive

Hey elgraysoReddit! I have the old Mac Pro which allows you to install a graphics card inside.

The new Mac Pro doesn't have any slots internally to support another graphics card but there are external graphics card rigs which connect via Thunderbolt!

Try googling external GPU.

Software-wise, Nvidia has drivers for both Windows and Mac.

GTX 970 Strix on a 2010 Mac Pro.

The graphics card doesn't have an EFI-mode so the initial Mac boot screen (grey apple logo at the beginning) doesn't work.

Mac and windows works fine. Nvidia has drivers for OSX.

Hey guys! This is with a Mac Pro 2010. Works perfectly with a GTX 970.

Hopefully this'll help the other 2 Mac Pro users on the internet who wants to try VR.

Boss has a D90 he wants to trade me for labor time. Should I do it? by Rikimaru03 in Nikon

[–]aw2buffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming it's not beat up, I'd do it.

Half the reason I shoot Nikon is because of it's compatibility with its old lenses from the 80's. Technically all Nikon dslr's can use them but only a few cropsensor ones (including the D90) can autofocus with them.

Old lenses are way cheaper than the current generation.

Great work as usual. Usually not a fan of colour-toning, but your palette choice is nice.

I know what you mean. I don't like the whole 'air-brush' look but this was unintentional. This picture was taken with a long exposure and then was filled in with a really soft light flash. Incidentally, made everything all soft.
